Which 2005 Gig do you regret missing the most and why...?

Hmmmm. Werchter, because it meant that Jan missed it too, and he of all people deserves to see them play again.
I've done a lot of unfortunate missing of gigs this year, the US no-go was frustrating but understandable, I hadn't booked the holiday and didn't give the boss much notice of intent to disappear for ten days, can't really blame them for refusing me holiday. Barcelona and Lisbon were annoying, but then again Karen's best mate did pick her wedding day a long time before the gigs were announced.
Oxegen was annoying in its own way, a) because I had spent a lot of money b) because I was looking forward to meeting Conrad, Elias and Sophia. Couldn't legislate for my father being taken ill though, even if the first thing he did on being released from hospital was to bollock me for being there and not being in Ireland with the Vikings!

Having been to the NEC earlier in the year, I should have taken on an extra paper-round to get to this bugger. I would have said Finsbury 87 but I was only 12 and that wasnae possible and had I miraculously got into the gig I would have been murdered in the crush!
Reading 89 for me is a near perfect set, the band at the top of their game and a cracking quote about Mission fans picking their fookin noses.

The gig I regret missing most is the last French one - Les Vieilles Charrues - after Oxegen I didn't want the buzz to end & looked into travel possabilities for that one - but from Dublin it didnt work out & anyway, she wouldnt have let me 
. The gig itself looks loike it was great & I would have loved to have gotten into that press conference
& then EGG . . .
Busy as fuck at work! So I only had 5 minuutes to have a look and post a message.
I am pissed off I missed France cos of decorating the bastard house - and to make matters worse - you fuckers got backstage and I missed another shout out to The Vikings......and ye's got E/G/G.

Hyde Park... seemed like the place to be!
Only festival they headlined, isn't it? and it was "their" gig.
The German ones, cos i was there that weekend but had run out of money following a few weeks of travelling. Will def try harder next time.
Probably Hyde Park, with France in second, and Turin third (for EGG of course).
Dunno what I would've done at Lisbon with the "singing", though it was amusing to see Barney running around at Oakland just before he sprained his ankle.

Glad I got to see them at Hyde Park and Turin, but would have loved to see them a lot more, given more holiday time (utilising a lot in December) and cash...
I did consider going to the French one, but I needed to be up in Manchester the next day and it would have all turned rather expensive 
Ah well, if they do non-festival gigs next time, I might make more of an effort!
Hyde Park because it seems like everyone was there and it was in London where I'm from.
The French one because people who went said it was the most memorable this year.
Would have liked to have been at the second half of Digital's set in Kilburn and all.
Still, Oakland was a great night.
From what I listen to the UK gigs didn't sound that great and the set list was boring, and the lack of Sirens songs didnt help. The best gig is a toss up between Oakland & Chicago. I like the set list for Oakland the best, but Chicago just sounded like the place to be.

Jim - they were two of the WORST gigs all year !! Oakland was saved cos it was the first gig and they started the set a bit randomly...SLC/LV/Sirens.... Now we all know you can't judge a gig by listening to bootlegs. Although boots do tend to carry the same atmosphere as you find at a US gig so I can see where you're coming from

Turin's gotta be the one that got away for me. EGG !!, and a great gig by all accounts. Only consolation I got was missing Werchter, part of the same weekend, which was a nightmare according to them that went. Thank fuck I changed me mind and went to Brittany, got EGG at last.
Non actually, I think I selected well and you don't miss what you didn't have. :)
If I'd have missed Brittany, would have been a bit unhappy!
I would have liked to have gone to Hyde Park but i dont regret not going as i had a storming time at glasto seeing Doves, Killers, BSP on friday and an amazing set from I Am Kloot early on saturday. Shame i missed the piss up though.
Dont regret missing Germany either as i had a storming time at the IOW festival. Regret missing Brittany if anything.
Oakland.
I had a ticket for this, but didn't go. I would have loved to see if Oakland is the shithole that everyone says it is. And I also like the Chemical Brothers.

Had no chance of any other gigs with work/mrs/kids dictating things..I had to bleedin sacrife any thoughts of other gigs..I wanted more after Hyde,but no regrets on a particular gig for me..Glad I got to Hyde park

I have to say Werchter first of all because we were that close and still missed it bar two tracks. Thankfully we had done Hyde Park the week before so no one can take that off me :D Other than that I would've liked to have been at Lisbon, if only for that infamous Krafty performance.
actually ANY of them-my father lives about 10 miles frpm The Oakland Colesium (where The NFL Oakland Raiders play) so the idea of seeing NO and crashing with pop? priceless
