I'm into the 4th CD now with 2 tracks left to put on it.

The 5th CD will be all the side project work but since I don't have the last Monaco album I can't include anything from that yet.

The 6th CD will be the mega mix.

The 1st CD contains about 6 JD tracks to set the tone with.

No marketing, No make up...just NO MUSIC!!!

It's not official...it's for my listening pleasure but people were already asking me for it since it will contain some tracks that are hard to get like MESH, Temptation 7", MTO, Donm't Do it...including side project work and the mega mix.

It's free!!! I told people that if anyone wanted it they just need pay the shipping costs.

If warner wants to pay me for my time and effort than fine but I don't want monmey for it. I just don't think Retro does the band justice enough so I'm putting it together for the fans like myself.

And yes I paid for all the music!!!

In other words, he's doing what I did a couple of years ago when I "modified" the tracklisting of 'Retro', transforming it into the 'vinyl/rareties/live & bonus material' collection we all wanted at the time.

Here's what I included over 5 discs: http://www.trustnoone.org.uk/RetroListing.html. I used a corking Technics 1210 and expensive Pre-amp, along with Sony Sound Forge to clean up and master all the old vinyl tracks, and even enhanced the earlier CD tracks to give them as loud a sound quality as recent New Order stuff.

So I probably had a better tracklisting, and better sound quality. See what you think of the tracklisting - much of which will be rendered useless if this 'The Singles' 2CD compilation materialises in October.

Yeah Andy...same concept but no live tracks and not so many rarities and not so many 7 inches(just the Temptation 7 inch); new stuff off the last 2 albums and some B-Sides...2 bonus cds are the side project work and the dance mix CD. CD 1 starts out with JD tracks...it's more in chronological order but there are singles scattered here and there due to time restrctions on the CDs.

And like I said it's free cause it's for me originally but if anyone wants it just hit me up and I can get it to you.

Worst thing that happens is I get to listen to all my favorite tracks whenever I want...what a bummer huh?

I've done my own compilations for personal and DJ use. If you bought the music it doesn't allow you to distribute copies of it to all and sundry via NOOL (if thats the intention...).

I think it's only legal (and fair) to burn and distribute NO tracks that are not currently available for sale.

Now, if Warners would allow the fans to make a Retro2 or something, with some real rarities (i.e. what Spotty has on this site) it would be high quality and worth buying.

They have a massive back catalogue of close to 20 albums when you add Joy Division, Revenge, Monaco, Electronic, The Other Two and New Order together; a far more prolific force of musicians than most people realise!

I'm sure, but I don't have friends that like NO the way I do so in my case no on the sharing aspect...Besides like I said I was doing it for myself and ppl wanted to hear some of it and I have yet to hear any DJ mix of nothing but NEW ORDER remixes.

No it does not allow you to copy and distribute but look at Retro...It's all the shit we already had anyway minus a lot of good tracks and we all paid for it...shame shame

I agree with the rarities but has everyone heard all the rarities and again you're talking about purchasing...can we please leave the money aspect out of this!!!!

I've also included 2 CDs worth of side project work.

Here's one I made for myself (sorry, I can't make copies) before Waiting for the Sirens' Call. A future version would definitely include at least the title track, and probably "Krafty" and/or "Jetstream".

It's my ultimate 5 disc New Order 'portable' collection. Each disc is itself chronological. Album versions except as noted:

Joy Division 'portable' (78:11)

Digital Disorder Insight New Dawn Fades She's Lost Control Shadowplay Wilderness Interzone Transmission Something Must Break Dead Souls Love Will Tear Us Apart (single a-side vers.) Isolation A Means to an End Heart and Soul Twenty Four Hours Decades Love Will Tear Us Apart (Peel Session vers.) Ceremony (from Still)

(pretty straightforward and tidy, I wanted Ceremony on the end to point the way to the future).

New Order 'portable' disc1 80:56

Ceremony (12" vers. with Gillian) Temptation (1987 vers.) Blue Monday (12" vers.) Confusion (1987 vers.) Thieves Like Us (12" vers.) Perfect Kiss (Substance edit) Sub-culture (John Robie remix edit) Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone Remix) True Faith (album vers.) 1963 (1994 version) Touched by the Hand of God (single vers.) Fine Time Round & Round Run Regret

(the first disc in my 'three histories' of New Order. It's my dream Substance disc1, with the singles from Technique and "Regret" tacked on).

New Order 'portable' disc2 80:38

Everything's Gone Green (12" vers.) Dreams Never End Age of Consent Love Vigilantes ShellShock (12" vers.) Paradise Weirdo Broken Promise State of the Nation (12" vers.) Blue Monday 1988 All the Way Love Less Guilty Partner Vanishing Point Dream Attack World in Motion (single mix) World (The Price of Love) Ruined in a Day

(covers additional singles and favorite album tracks and most of the additional tracks from 'Technique')

New Order 'portable' disc3 80:51

586 Your Silent Face Sub-culture (album vers.) Sunrise Elegia (album vers.) As It Is When It Was All Day Long Mr. Disco Spooky Everyone Everywhere Young Offender Avalanche Crystal (radio edit) 60 Miles an Hour Close Range Run Wild Here to Stay (radio edit)

(essential odds-n-ends and my faves from 'Get Ready')

side order: 'portable' New Order side projects 78:04

Electronic - Getting Away With It (extended vers.) Electronic - Get the Message (album vers.) Electronic - Idiot Country Electronic - Reality Electronic - Tighten Up Electronic - Feel Every Beat Electronic - Disappointed (single mix) Electronic - Forbidden City Electronic - For You Electronic - One Day Electronic - Second Nature The Other Two - Tasty Fish (album vers.) The Other Two - Selfish (The Single Mix) The Other Two - Selfish (That Pop Mix) Monaco - What Do You Want from Me? Monaco - Happy Jack

(surprisingly strong, I find I listen to this quite a bit. This disc generously pretends that Revenge never happened! also 'Twisted Tenderness' is absent and the last Other Two album which I haven't even heard. The second Monaco album is ignored because I don't remember anything from it).

Here's a thought. Why not buy all Joy Division/New Order studio albums, plus both JD/NO 'Substance', then listen to those as your "box set" instead. Would save a lot of CD burning, and give you virtually the same selection of tracks.
