Erm,1963 was released as an A side (remix) in 1995.

By that time, the chance for it to be a hit was gone. 1987 would have been the better time to release it.

Is the remix the one on The Best of...?

Mr. Disco seems a bit outdated now. I would like to see them reinvent the song with better production values. I would also like to see it remix with more empahsis on the final verse(I've been to all theses places...). It could be an amazing dark disco song.

I voted for morning, night and day becuase i love that song. Everybody can relate to a drinking song. It is a typical new order song but a few nicely added touches.

Morning, Night and Day- why the hell this was given away as a free track on a Guardian newspaper free CD i'll never know, but it may have hooked in one or two people.

1963 was a definite and proper CD single release- I know because i've got it!

Definently Paradise,I love that song. Brotherhood is one of their most kickass albums! I like it more than low life, er anyway. Paradise! they could even have released the a newer version of it from '98. cool stuff.

1963 is a great song and should have released as a single.

Deffo Mr. Disco. That had remix written all over it! The only mix I know of that song is Razormaid!, I think. But I think with them it's mostly a cut 'n paste type mixing, right?

Well, it's not that I don't like Chem or SJ, it's just that I don't rate them as "singles" material...

Mr Disco should have been released at the time, it hit the mood of the moment spot on. if they released it now people would probably not like it...

The 1995 single version was the Arthur Baker Radio Mix, and was on the US version of 'The Best Of...'. For the UK version of 'The Best Of...' we got the horribly-edited 1994 edit by Stephen Hague.

Nah it's not. Hooky's bass at the end of the song is classic New Order, it's my favourite track on the album.

Mr. Disco. Technique had more life in her. Vanishing Point should have received a proper A-side release, video and mixes.

I've always thought Vanishing Point should have been ahead of Mr Disco in the queue to be a single. As for Your Silent Face...if this had been a single then it wouldn't have been on the album....that was the rule back then wasn't it?! Wonder what they'd have replaced it with?

I have to vote for Mr Disco although the song is pretty poor.

went with 1963, it basically was given the single treatment, despite being a B side. the only other one i would consider is your silent face. i like mr. disco a lot but i dont think it would make a good single.

Dreams Never End would have been good. Bridged the gap for JD fans.

Mr Disco is the best track, but Paradise (as I said in the other thread) should have been released instead of sodding State of the Nation..
