Peter Hook will play a DJ set at the North Star venue in the Shetland Islands on Saturday 3rd September. The gig was meant to happen in December 2004, but had to be rearranged due to Hooky sustaining a hand injury a week before the show. The North Star has played host to a number of ex-Factory acts in the past including The Durutti Column, Silent Partners (featuring Dermo from Northside) and Graeme Park from the Hacienda. Ticket info for the Peter Hook date can be found at thenorthstar.co.uk

are the shetlands becoming the new iceland, perhaps? meaning the new cool 'cool' place for musicians.
I went nightclubbing in the North Star when I had a rather fine holiday in Shetland back in 2001. Quite unlike anywhere else you could possibly visit in the UK.
Hardly any trees, due to the cross wind from the Atlantic and North Sea. A very quiet place. Lots of alcoholics. I was well at home. That's the islands in general - not the North Star!
