NO song you didn't like until......

Name a NO tune you didn't like until you witnessed it performed live or from a recording.

Ive only been to 2 shows(17yrs apart)

So this one is from the reading festival'93

I never really gave Love Vigilantes, Leave Me Alone and Sunrise a listen until I heard Re: Order and Digital play them, now they're some of my favourite tracks.

Can't say that this has happenned to me, but it does sometimes make you appreciate an old song in a new way...

I always loved 'Your Silent Face', but it sounds a lot fresher and uplifting to me after I heard it at Finsbury Park (i've only been to 2 gigs as well!).

True Faith!! I heard it on my brothers tape, live at Glastonbury 87, a few months after it was released and it was not really my thing. It was the 1st time they ever performed and Barney made a balls of it, so each time I hear it now I can just picture him on the stage blushing and tongue tied!

RUN Wild's live rendition makes me not like it.I Much prefer the album version.

i honestly can't think of a NO song which i used to dislike and now enjoy. i did like run wild performed live, but i still think the song is crap. to turn the tables, i used to like fine time but now it's like muzak to my ears.

i was never particularly bothered about jd until i saw no in finsbury park the other year. still only like the ones i heard there tho!

Sorry, how young?

12 yrs old. If i remember correctly it was on my birthday.

Every Little Counts when it was used to preview an Everton Match, and just the instrumental bit at the end.

I liked "Perfect Kiss", but I fell in love with that track when I heard the live version from the Peel Sessions album. ^_

TBTHOG i was'nt that keen on the song until i went to see NO at the Manchester Apollo in 2001..now it's oone of my favorite track's..

Love Vigilantes - it doesn't sound like a C&W tune when they stomp through it live

I always quite liked Ceremony but seeing them play it live blows me away every time.

Always loved it but Temptation is fantastic live, you can see the lads love playing it.

couldn't give a monkeys about BLT live should drop it and replace with TBTHOG, it's got more balls.

Hey Now wasn't one of the first tracks that caught my ear from the new album, but I did really enjoy hearing that live this year.

I disliked World until 2000 after hearing the soundboard stuff from 1993. It still is far from greatness but certainly listenable.

do you mean most of Brotherhood and Technique?, you never know that further moments of revelations may change your view.

Most of Brotherhood, yes. I like 2/3 of Technique.

For me I didnt like Hurt till I heard it live! Still prefer the live recording to the studio release. Does anyone remember Sunrise on The Old Grey Whistle test when Barney removes his Guitar and throws it on the floor! God I would love to see that again!

Never ever liked "We All Stand", but i really like the live version on the Pumped Full of Drugs bootleg.

OK, I've got 2:

1. Ceremony - I've always liked it, but when I saw it live in London New Year's eve 1998, it absolutely blew me away! Now I realize the studio track does not do it justice. Live, it has so much energy and power, especially the way Hooky comes on with the bass during the break (when it goes quieter, then LOUDER). (You can see part of it on one of the DVD's in the extras section). Now it's in my top 3 favorite songs, and since they don't play it much anymore, it's the one I most want to see live again.

2. Your Silent Face: I always thought it was a nice song, but when I saw it live at the Gorge near Seattle in 2001, it was an absolutely perfect magical moment. Barney on the melodica, and the sun setting in the Columbia River gorge, wow!
