Got my ITEM DVD and SINGLES CD this week,so I'm in NO heaven.
Could anyone tell me though,now CD is available,what version of "Ceremony" is included.I've only ever heard the SUBSTANCE version.
I saw a lot of threads referring to Warners including the 7" version,but on playing it last night,I've never heard it with Barney's ECHOED vocals on it before.
Is it a new edit or the original 7"? Because it's goddamn good!!

Original 7", recorded and released before Gillian was in the band. The 'Substance' version came out later in 1981 as another 12". I kind of like both versions equally, for different reasons.

Cheers!! Thanks for that.Ceremony was never one of my favourites but I prefer the 7".Production on the vocals is much better,it suits the song.
It's wonderful to finally have a prestine version of the original Ceremony, as opposed to my crackling MP3 version. This version alone is worth the price of "Singles".
I only wish all the songs were the original "7" versions. It's a shame they couldn't include the 7 inch versions of Blue Monday(83), True Faith, and BLT. The rare 7" Canadian version of BLT would have been awsome! Perhaps next time?
