I listened to the Richard X remix once or twice and REALLY liked it.

Shep Pettibone's version. Normally I don't go for NO remixes, especially ones without Hooky. This is an exception.

Preferred live version? Glastonbury '87-before it went total karaoke. That shambolic guitar at the end is great.

Shep Pettibone's 1994 version is my favourite. Its a cleaner version but still has Hookys great bass hook in it.

What do you like so much about the shambolic guitar at end of BLT Glastonbury? It makes me cringe everytime I hear it. I swear a 4 year old could play the guitar better than someone of Barneys stature (ie recording artist of last 28 years).

The guitar bit is great because it sounds like Bernard just plugged in. BLT was one of the first tracks to get me into New Order, but sometimes it sounds a bit too precious. It was delightfully roughed up at Glastonbury '87.

the now defunct SELECT magazine gave away a free factory tape which i seem to remember has an excellent version of BLT - i think it's a stephen hague remix.

must dig it out sometime!

I got that, Its a great tape with Happy Mondays and Cathy Someone on it. BLT has a lovely fade out with just one of the keyboard twinkling bits prominent. Plus its got "doo dud doo, doo loo loo doo" vocal just before 2nd verse.

Ive got the Cath Carroll album on CD somewhere,*Moves Like You* is the only decent track on it if i remember rightly. Got that select tape somewhere and all-hasnt it got a Durutti Column megamix on it so something daft like that!

Big fan of the Richard X remix. There's also a fan mix floating around called the 2003 Instrumental dMIX. I'm quite fond of that one too. Anyone heard it? I could probably post it up somewhere if you'd like.

I've got a pretty decent instrumental remix of BLT that I found a few months back... might be the same one.

I have mixed feelings about this.

As much as I love the Shep Pettibone Remix, the ending of all the other version (Hooky's solo) is simply amazing.

But I believe all versions are good, except Armand Van Helden's aweful remix.

Richard X's version is good, but I'm not placing it ahead of Shep's version, which is classic dance version.. it's just, different.

Crystal Method's remix is also good.

Will have to go look for the Armand Van helden one just to hear how badly my beloved BLT was massacred. On second thought, maybe not.

Still love the Richard X remix--I want that one so bad it hurts.
