Liv, you missed out Toothache, babe. It was on the text. Came after BLT and b4 Temptation (where else would it be?)
As for this guy getting thrown out, please BEHAVE people! I was stood 6ft from him down the front and he didn't bother me one iota. There's a huge gap before YSF and he's repeatedly shouting for 'Temptation' (believe me, this Aussie crowd was so quiet he's the ONLY ONE shouting) and security lean up over the barriers and tell him to shut up cos he's spoiling everyone else's fun! How many X thousands of people there?! The crowd around us actually CLAP security! How Rock & Roll! The guy is genuinely apologetic but then during said YSF he's trying to get in front of Hooky and pulling the worst air bass poses imaginable and next thing you know people are complaining, security are hauling him out and everyone's CLAPPING again. Surely people post on a site like this for the camaraderie - please put that into practice next time you're near the front. And if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Honestly, none of you would last one track into a New Order gig on English soil. I was disgusted at people's attitudes last night, hence the text to Liv telling her what I saw! It was comical, to be blunt. Oh, and for the record, the bloke was perhaps 5'6 tops. An English babe like Liv could've eaten three of him for breakfast.
Anyway, as for the gig - we got a set-change! So happy for small mercies these days but RTS came in 4th with KW1 6th, making this different to the other BDO sets. Indeed, I got the set-list off Diane (sound woman) at the end of the gig and it was simply the original BDO set with Lov Vig and Atmosphere crossed out and 'Shack' and 'KW1' scrawled over the top (well, actually, KW1 was scrawled in next to Atmos so perhaps Atmos was dropped due to time restrictions?).
Couple of other points from last night's gig - Hooky had a Pavement t-shirt on. They support Luton, you know. Well, their manager does and they're Yanks, aren't they, but they're listed as 'famous fans' of our anyways!
Watched Phil C a lot. What does he do? Watched him closely during Transmission and he didn't play a solitary note, just threw lots of Pete Townsend raaaack poses.
Hooky's Mrs was trying to get his daughter to dance during Rock the Shack. Little Miss Hook wasn't having any of it, mind. How sweet.
LFC was STILL in day-glo at the side of the stage. And thankfully we didn't get any MUFC trite off the Barnster last night.
Low-sun at the start of the set meant Barney could hardly read his monitors - he was squinting for about 5 songs in - so he even cocked up the lyrics for Crystal. HOW?!
Oh, and I dunno if anyone else has noticed that the Specials 'Nite Klub' has been played straight after Blue Monday at all BDO's (cue hilarious Rude Boy dancing from the roadies at Sydney) but that's NOTHING to do with the Order. It's actually the Prodigy's sound man who starts with that one.
Watched the first few songs of the Prodigy's set. Used to have a lot of respect for them but they appear to have re-invented themselves as Slipknot now! Which would go down well with Aussies - have seen no end of Slipknot T's at these gigs but did actually saw a record number of Neworder T's at yesterday's BDO. THREE! And one of them belonged to Johnny Giles! But at least the Prodigy got the crowd 'jumping'. What's all that about then? Heathens.
Perhaps see some of you at the Metro? Remember now, no dancing, some of us are trying to send text messages to Engerland!!
;)
