Those other Aussies out there who have contacts at warner - heard any news yet?

Wasn't Singles set for late October and a collection shorty after? WFTSC looks like its not going to happen, but fingers crossed for the other releases soon, maybe?

EDIT:

Must be coming soon as it was mentioned in the paper yesterday - Q weekend liftout:

Hot ticket page 10

'Music Old and New Order You wont find a better greatest hits compilation this year than New Order's Singles, a collection that marshals every song released by the Manc ledgends, plus a new track, Turn.

A well researched and thought out piece, dont you think. Plus, Turn ain't new. But I guess we can rule out any special tracks.

Delays, delays, delays.

The WFTSC single probably won't be released here in any form.

The Singles is now due on November 7.

The Collection DVD is delayed with no release date yet that I'm aware of. NewOrderStory is yet to be confirmed at all.

Will post an update in the week if I find out anything more.

:\ohwell: actually was looking forward to getting 'Singles' on Monday week. Can't seem to get much info about the DVD as Warner Music Vision is a different entity to Warner Music, and apparently WMV do things differently to Warner Music (but not differently in a good way...). Guess it's just as well I ordered ITEM from O/S, I've had it for weeks now and it's lovely! CTB :bear:

Apparently Club77 here in Sydney had a launch nite for NO 'Singles' sometime last week ( didnt go to that but I saw FAKER - the band with 'Ian-Curtis-actalike' frontman, there not too long ago )...so its a sign that the release should be soon.

I and Shergs, or should that be the other way round got Singles, WFTSC cd single, and 3 7# from overseas a couple of weeks ago. I did notice an ad in a JB HIFI publication for singles. From memory release date was something like 28.10.

I bought the WFTSC CD single from RED EYE for $9.95 and they have all 3 WFTSC 7"s for $9.95 each as well. I was lucky to have snared all 3 7"s PLUS the slipcase from an UK Ebayer.:) Now, I'm curious if HMV here in Sydney might give out posters with the SINGLES release.....you never know, we might be lucky:)

yeh I would have checked out Red eye records, if I hadn't gotten them the other way. They seem to get all the non-Australian releases.

Unless JB have better info than the source at WarnerAustralia that ChargeBeast and I know, you won't see a local release before the 7th of November. No doubt there will be import copies available well before the Aus release date. CTB :bear:

Sounds about right, Mil.

They're shipping pre-orders on Friday Nov 4 which suggests a Monday Nov 7 release date.

I was in NZ for a month when WFTSC LP was released; I got three different release dates from different stores and eventually I had to buy it in the UK airport when I got home.

My NZ NO mate had to wait two weeks longer than the latest date we were quoted; so it looks like their is a lot of Australasian release date confusion!

I imagine that you've put an entry in for one of the slipcases as well then? I certainly lept at that chance.

Most definitely an import.

Latest from Warner:

Warner Vision Australia are expecting to release the 2 DVDs individually, as per the UK.

Release date is now November 21.

There will not be a free poster give-away with the local release of Singles. Warner AU has a handful left which are expected to be given away as prizes for local radio/retail outlet promos.

If any of you are crazy for them, I'll try and find out where you can win them!

I'm in NZ and don't bother buying locally anymore. Can import from HMV much earlier and pretty cost effective. Got the 3 x WFTSC 7" for 99p each!!!

Last week's 'Scene' street mag in Brisbane had a singles review of Waiting for the Siren's Call. Either they reviewed a promo copy and assumed a single is coming out or there is actually a single coming out. Anyone know?

Hi Dennis. Promo 7"s were despatched a few weeks ago in Aus along with some 5-track CD-Rs. The vibe from Warner AU was that they were testing the waters for interest but it was unlikely to get an official local release.

OK - now JB have changed their minds about the track listing - now replaces wo with turn. HMV are still featuring WO - maybe they just dont update their site.

Singles is out a day early in Adelaide, not at JBs though. I bought it today, and found Peter Saville's book in Borders, so a good day out really :)

Is it my imagination but are the levels in Ceremony all over the place?

Saw it in JBs on the weekend.

Finally saw SINGLES Oz issue for the first time last Sat at ....of all places, DAVID JONES (Department Store) in Tuggerah (remote outpost between Sydney & Newcastle)...in the WESTFIELD shooping mall. Funny thing is there's a HMV there but no SINGLES in sight!!?? The next day, saw SINGLES all over Sydney stores..but without any fanfare tho....all of them tucked away in a corner. I guess reality hits that Aussies gonna miss out on any freebies like posters, etc... Do you think we might get something like jars of free suncream (now summer's here in Oz) available in 3 colours like that pink, yellow, orange on the WFTSC 7"s stickers???:D

Oh - It only appeared ON THE RELEASE DAY exactly here in Brissy - all stores I went to. Got it today and I'm mighty pleased. Also saw that JB here now stock electronic stuff more - considering buying raise the pressure but I wasnt fond of their self titled album.
