General consensus around here seems to be that most music papers are pretty much worthless these days. One habit I've not yet overcome is checking out The Village Voice's year end music poll Pazz and Jop, where a bunch of writers send in their top 10 lists and Robert Christgau compiles them.

NO comes in at a decent enough #22, and tied for #15 on the singles list with Crystal. Of course, people are gonna quibble with the listing etc. (I don't really think Dylan's latest album is the best of the year) but that goes with the territory when dealing with such things. http://www.villagevoice.com/specials/pazznjop/01/

I suffered so you don't have to...

I copied the whole list into an Excel spreadsheet...there are 1,307 ENTRIES ON THERE! That's enought to fill 32 Top 40 stations' playlists.

New Order shows up again at No. 246 with 60 Miles Per Hour! Congratulations lads!

Wheatus was robbed, and "Teenage Dirtbag" (a great track) tied for last place (along with 931 other tracks, including non-hits by Aphex Twin, Curve, Tenacious D, A-Teens, N*Sync, Arab Strap, Bee Gees, Belle and Sebastian, Cylob and The Crystal Method).

To me, you're all winners! :\puke:
