I dunno, if you had girls whose ages are tiny fractions of your own still fancying you (for some God foresaken reason) at 50, you don't think you'd be looking forward to it just a bit?
only if you can get a piece of that ass- and can still get it up... sure i'd be looking forward to it... viagra, baby!!!
Seeing as you are a day early - why not celebrate with me, my latest son's birthday - born today 3rd Jan 2006, at 9.20am

No name for him yet - as usual I want a NO related name for him, while she wants something totally different - it'll be days before I finally give in!

You all forgot Dave Foley! (same b-day, a few years younger) :p
Anyway, happy b-day, Barney...even though it's still 01/03/06 here in the EST ![]()

I'd be fancying him if he looked like he did back in the mid- and late '80s, but sadly, he is nearing my parents' age and is in almost as bad shape as they are.
A hello from Canada to you all. Happy New Year 2006! What a web site this is. News, lyrics and videos. Thank You. Anybody else wishing that we could get a big, clean, fantastical Happy Birthday to Mr. Sumner ? To say thank you to the band for not completely folding in Joy Division in 1980 as they'd said they would if one couldn't continue... when Ian- Bless him/how much we miss him/ still with us/ left us. How sorrowful our years would've been without New Order blaze-ing through our studies. Simply that 1,000s and more of us are in a chronic state of respectful love and lust with the band. Respectful that they're married and all, you know. like we were yesterday. And I've never met anyone quite like you before. Instincts that can still betray us. Thanks- happy January.
It seems like Bernard Sumner is getting younger each day!!!
In His voice, fashion sense, energy(when he jumps and screams on the stage)are still now boyish![]()

I'm surprised he doesn't split the stage or make his autocue fall into the audience when he jumps on stage these days.
No worries about Barney:)
He still acts as if he is 20 years old
He was spinning himself like 20 times on the stage at Fuji Rock Festival'05 when he was singing "Krafty" in Japanese![]()
Happy Birthday Barney!!!
If you happen to read this, keep on making great music. We are looking forward to the new stuff in 2006! ![]()

LOL....Barney mask then Kershaw!
Well, I give old Bernard fuckin dog's abuse on these fora, but I love him to bits as much as the rest of you (tho not in the very REAL physical sense some of the Angels think about every night)
50 LOL.
Still think if I was the one working out which member of the band should be replaced with a tape recorder for making mistakes......it would NOT be Gillian :D

You want a fight too. How dare you come on this thread and take the P.
Moving swiftly back to that Kershaw creature....... Keown, and Winterburn were amazing players- even you can't deny, Dixon, Winterburn, Adams and Kepwn were one of the best defences that have ever been. For all tose years too! legends? YES, stars? YES Lookers? erm....no but that's not why i'm in the footy game and why i have Barney![]()
you can't sit there with a straight face and tell me Gillian's pets fucked up more than Barney?
Congrats Barney you old bugger- at least you've still got all your own hair- I'm 38 going on 39 and suffering the family curse landing strip in the middle of my hairline:\ohwell:
Steve Campbell wrote: you can't sit there with a straight face and tell me Gillian's pets fucked up more than Barney?
He does all the time- i know that. But..... it's what makes him so unique. the fact that without fail, he will mess up at least one New Order/ JD tune when doing a gig. Would not have him any other way.
Happy 50th birthday Barney. Always remember your own words today:
"One drink wouldn't do it, two drinks were far too much."

Well now, there's a use for the Angel's badges i hadn't forseen....big pink badge= a warning to BA that he's about to get a knee in the knackers or a stilletto in the temple.
As for barney's screwups...I love them too...I'm just bitter than half the band was sacked and locked in a cupboard for being "dodgy on stage" and that fruitcake is left to run wild.
I have been asked to post the following on behalf of the lovely missy jem......
"have a bobby dazzler barney, from a special angel, ME X"
I was ust thinking....I wonder if he has had all his Saga mailers in the post yet.

I wonder how Barney is celebrating his B-day today:beer2:
Happy Birthday again, Barney! It is still your special day in England(wherever you are in the time zone)!!!![]()
even though he's only 11 years younger than my father and therefore it's highly disturbing that i fancy him, i wish barney a happy 50th. 50. fifty. fiff-tee.
Damn! I was going to pop out of a cake for Barney on his birthday, but UPS said they weren’t aloud to transport people inside baked goods. All that baking for nothing.
Oh well, my outfit didn’t work out either. I was hoping to have the BA badges by now so I could remove the pins and wear them as pastes when I jumped out of the cake.
Happy birthday Bernard!
edit: Um…you know I’m kidding, right?

Seriously though, there is no way I'd give him 50, and I didn't feel like I was talking to a 49 year old man when I talked with him.

Don't worry angel, I grew up in the Tory heartland and went to school with girls whose main ambition was to appear in "Cheshire Brides" magazine - and I'm not a Tory! Cheshire probably has it's advantages for Barney - still close to Manchester but he can probably keep a low profile among the clueless rich kids, Man U players and Hooray Henrys. No......... actually i'd rather be dead then a Tory. Who do you think created "New Labour"? I'm no Blair fan, but he's a billion times better then any Tory party! I'll never sell my soul- ever. It's easy to read tabloid press- i studided politcs for for 6 years, my degree is in it, the facts speak for themselves.

Yeah! Why do you think politics became right wing all round???? Because politics had been under the influence for so long, it could never go back. Who gor rid of Trade Uinon power? Who brought in privatisation? Thank you! neil Kinnock lost that 1992 general election because he was too LEFT. The general public were not interested. The only way Labour would ever get back in power, was to change the way they thought about politics- the world changed under 18 years of tories. I'm not sying it's right, but if labour had not one the general election in 1997- they never would have got in power agin, and a merge with Lib dems would have been a possibility. That was how serious the state of politcs was in.

OK....so...you're basically saying New Order should have made Aggadoo (anyone who doesn't know that tune, I envy you), or should now make "cock bitch motherfucker blingedy bling ring a ding" music.....cos music has been irrevocably fucked by other twats......the bit I don;t get...is at that point...how are they any different except in heritage?
To swap one analogy for another............

Most politicians need shooting. You could say you are a non partisan, or get religion like Bongo. Still think it is great that NO's CD is at 29 in best of 2005. I think this particular chart is based on creativity and not on sales, as Willy Mason is in this chart. So not based on sales and whether Joe Bloggs bought the CD. Just bought a postcard of the Titanic lost out on another one too expensive went for £235.09, I wanted the card because it was one of the last produced of Titanic sailing from Southampton. I know this is nothing to do with NO, but it is one of my other obsessions.

GNU stuck up some political test thing and I came out like RIGHT in the centre, teeny bit left, but basically there were no other example plots near mine. I must be too scientific to make judgements based on dogma so I can never get dragged one way or other. Yhea the titanic left Belfast unsinkable and the bleeding English broke it....my story and I'm stickin to it :D You know they are building Titanic II...yeah I'd get on that....what about the HMS lockerbie too, that'd be a good name for a boat. I wish I could say I could poke around in belfast for you, but everyone here is far too cute to the whole titanic money spinner. Might be some nice cards of other things to be found tho, I'll keep an eye open. there used to be 3 antique shops in one street here and 2 of em had huge boxes of postcards and photo's going WAY back....closed now tho.
I didn't realise that NO's position was creativity realated....tho the question is begged....why are they not then number 1? :D
happy girthday, barney. lose some weight and remember your lyrics.
Your greetings are a bit harsh, your holiness. However, I agree that Bernard should take your suggestions as New Years Resolutions. :D
New Years resolution for Barney......
Ensure you do the following things:
Have a collagen implant or five
Get some liposuction
Invest in some Grecian 2000
Write some new songs
Stop fucking whooping like a tit at your gigs
Learn not to dance like your dad
On no account reform Joy Division
Give Brandon Flowers a good kicking and a couple of black eyes. This will save on him having to wear eye liner in future.
Stay COOL as you are now, Bernard!![]()

I think the boys are a pretty low level conservative "close to the chest" bunch. To keep going for almost 30 years in one form or another.
There not getting involved a lot in politics or social movement flavor of the month has probably added to their long term popularity with all people and their music.
Thankfully they will not be like Bongo that has to "smooz" with every politician of every stripe or sell his visage to sell cheesy Ipods built by Chinese slave labor.
So Barney can live where ever he wants. I think he could wander the USA to Walmarts and Kmarts and the backroads and would never be noticed as a middle-aged polite Englishman who likes to dance around and drink Pernod. If Cheshire is rural, it is probably why he likes it.
do i get to be no. 100? i can't beleive all this slagging of the leafy county went on without my noticing. the part where Barns lives is meant to be infested with witches and satanism. Don't know if thats got anything to do with why he lives there though. Personally i like it.Except for all those damn footballers in their hummers.

What, Alderley Edge? Do people still go up there on Halloween to do pagan rituals??
He's only 50? I would guess 62-63ish on first glance...
Just keep up the steady diet of the drugs and alcohol kids, and you too can look like death warmed over one day!
Remember when New Order looked so much younger than the Rolling Stones? Ah those were the days...
Ajw

i would say they all look quite well for their age. just compare them to u2, who actually are bit younger.
Think the best thing about the man and the band lookswise is that they don't look like a bunch of popstars. Rather normal, run of the mill, can-meet-you-on-the-corner-in-broad-daylight-and-not-blink kind of appearance. Well, there IS the sport gear, but who cares. :P
Could be worse, they could all get nipped and tucked and sucked and plucked and then they'd be Glossy. Like Valentino. Scary.
Y'know.... 13 yrold girls really ought NOT to broadcast their lust for 50 yrold men on the interent :D
On a serious note tho.... welcome to NOOL, everyone sensible is out at the moment watching some band. I'd be happy to take a message. ;)
