My good mate Chris phones me up and says to me, 'big man i've just taped that New Order song you're looking for on Radio 1, i'll send you the tape'. Excellent says I! Recieved said tape yesterday, duly despatched it off to another mate, Bob, to have it transfered to minidisc. All day today i'm texting Bobs wife Carol, 'Don't forget the minidisc, it's important'. 'Don't worry, it's in my bag' says Carol. Carol duly arrives at the school playground as we pick up the kids and hands over aforementioned disc. Muffy, too excited for any niceties drags the kids home. The poor wee blighters feet didn't touch the ground once on the way. I runs up the stairs sticks the minidisc in the machine, the display reads 1 track, 6mins 30 secs. You beauty says I, it's the full horror, not the single version. The track starts to play, eventually Bernards voice comes in. Great tune thinks I, though a little familiar sounding. Another minute or so, still a great tune, still familiar sounding, and then the penny drops. It's Out Of Control by the Chemical Brothers with Barney on vocals! CHRIS YOU ARE A BASTARD AND YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!!
Serves me right really, I should never have sent him the letter with a Royal Mail heading telling him he'd been overpaid by £3000 over the last three years and now had to work for nothing until it was paid back. You're right Chris, revenge is sweet, and it will be mine, again!
