My fav member's Barney coz he's a good singer, but has anyone noticed how he has a different hairstyle every photo you see?

i suppose hooky, 'cause he has a great sense of humour and his bass-playing is simply glorious.
Barney is my favorite.
He is a great songwriter, and sometimes his lyrics are brilliant (Blue Monday, True Faith, Bizarre Love Triangle, Vanishing Point, All the Way, Dream Attack, the entire Republic album).
I love the way he sings, his voice has an emotive, plaintive quality, like Neil Young.
He is a great guitar and synth player.
He is very intelligent, even if he acts like an idiot.
He is fucking hilarious.
He manages to be brilliant and stupid at once.
He is the Everyman of British Indie Rock and electro.
I loved the spiky bleached Princeton haircut he had in the 1980s. I also love how he used to wear tight black Fred Perry shirts, and nice dress shirts in general.
I am not gay, but when they were younger, Barney was the most handsome member of JD/NO.
I also love Gillian. He is underrated, alot of her keyboard parts were brilliant.

I liek Phil when he plays the synths, cause he rock outs. He moveas a bit more behind the keyboard than Gillian did.
Actually, if he had his keyboard facing out towards the audience instead of shoved off to the side of the stage (like it wasnt important) I would be happy. Since the majority of NO's music comes from keyboards, they should occupy a prominent place on stage.
I like all 6 of them, but Barney is still my favorite.

Gillian did not dance because she was operating a complex system of electonic instruemts. Phil plays a part or two by had while the rest comes off tape as he is apparently not as talented as Gillian, I can imagine no other reason for New Order playing live with Gillian and miming with Phil.
As for faves? Hooky every time, tho I love them all (even phil) loads.
That's a tough question. I know I'm an Angel, but this bears some thought.
Steve's most hilarious, Hooky's most accessible, Gillian's got a better singing voice (IMO), Bernard has the brains (shh, don't laugh) behind the lyrics and ol' Ian was the most intriuging one of them all.
But to choose one over the other, well, it's just not that easy. They each have in seperate the things that make their respective groups work so well. I can't fairly choose one over another because it's not seperate that I enjoy so much, it's the whole kit and kaboodle.
That said, Steve wins for humor. Gillian wins for sincere niceness. Hook wins for being as much of a fan of his own band(s) as we are, and Bernard wins for retaining his attitude that ignites us after all these years.
And well, Ian, he gives us all hope we can still fruit good things happening after we've skivved off to the beyond.
So I guess they are all favorite? 
I never was good at choosing that sort of thing.
(And sorry Phil, but I just don't know that much about you yet. Give it another ten years.)
it's gotta be BARNEY, because of his great song writing, good voice, quirky dance, good looks ;), and MOST of all simply his WHOLE attitude and simplicity! That's just my opinion.
Technically speaking, they have the best and most original drummer and bassist in the whole wide world and one of the better songwriters too so... ...I'd go for The Music!

gotta be Grandmaster C. i.e Phil. I mean he started the band. it was his idea. he stayed in the backgorund for twenty odd years, advising Peter, Bernard etc what to do. without Phil, New Order just wouldn't be New Order.

Steve - intelligence, humour, personality, skills and simply the fact that hye plays drums and synths - my fave, instruments.
Next Gillian - because I'm a fan of them as a pair. I thinks its really sweet on the interview disc how he enourages her to speak when she's quioet "TYell them about Quincy.." "Gillian, you're well up on empathy. What do you think" - to which she always replies "oh.. ummm...." which I find sweet for some reason.
Plus her stage precence is sublime and quiet. Plus, she has a great voice.
Hooky seems gruff but I imagine he's really just a great big teddy bear when you get to know him.

I have no fav member in particular.I regret Gilian but i think Phil brings something new to the group, something youthfull:)
I really appreciate Barney 'style and i' ve got a lot of pleasure when i can see Hooky playing live....so he's probably my favorite member!

well well. i have to choose hooky cuz im a bassist and he is my influence and role model. and i like steve too cuz he is usually the last person thought of about the band being he's in the back drummin away. but barney rocks too. and i miss gillian. forget it, im not picking any favorites, i love them all

I'm a bassist too, but still...barney's my fav. And I can't sing for England.
asking this question is like asking which tire do you like on your car better. every tire is required in order to make the band what it is. without one it wont be going anywhere. so theyre all equally awesome
