Starting from Saturday 25th of March at the Brisbane Powerhouse’s VISY Theatre, electronic music fans will have the chance to reinvigorate their passion for some of electronic music's icons - by way of TRANS:COM's latest initiative - the "SILHOUETTE SERIES".
NUMAN SS1 - the first event in Trans:Com's SILHOUETTE SERIES - offers devoted Numan fans an audiovisual montage featuring some of Gary Numan’s best work produced by Simon Roots (recent fine art graduate and emerging local multimedia artist), interspersed with live performances from ANDY BAGLEY, TAIYO, and THE ISLE; playing original music plus a cover or two of some of Gary Numan's greater known songs such as "Are friends Electric?", "Down in the Park" and others.
NUMAN SS1 is the first of four events, the others being SUMNER SS2 scheduled for Saturday 13 May, GORE SS3 for Saturday 8 July, and the final event, GUDMUNDSDÓTTIR SS4, on Saturday 30 September all taking place at the VISY Theatre. The next 3 Silhouette Series dates feature live music from acts such as MY NINJA LOVER, TYCHO BRAHE, PONYLOAF, MEGAPHONIK, LAWRENCE ENGLISH, DIZZYGOTHECA, DHARMA BUFFER plus an array of emerging local multimedia artists presenting retrospectives on Bernard Sumner (of Joy Division, New Order & Electronic fame), Martin Gore (Depeche Mode) & Björk Gudmundsdóttir.
The Silhouette Series is Trans:Com's way of paying tribute to some of our greatest individual song writing influences whilst showcasing the talent of Brisbane's leading exponents of original electronic music. The Series is co-presented by Trans:Com and the Brisbane Powerhouse in association with other leading innovators including MAP Magazine, Time Off, PulseRadio.Net, Colour Synergy, Mango-A-GoGo Productions and Tone Pacer.
