New Order and a Police record?

I was listening to Invisible Sun by The Police yesterday and thought it sounded quite like Decades. The chord played on the keyboard on Invisible Sun is played with the same rhythm and could even be the same two chords? (although it is played at the lower end of the keyboard). And then theres a little guitar slidy part that Andy Summers plays which is quite similar to what Barney plays.

The whole mood of the song is quite dark and depressing (some may say also like Joy Division). Im not in anyway suggesting Invisible Sun or The Police are better than their counterparts but wondered if anyone else had picked up on this? It seems to me that The Police were definately going for a JD sounding song with this one.

I remember hearing from a friend of mine a good 10-15 years ago that it was Stephen Morris who did the drum machine part on Sting's "Englishman In New York" (the drum instrumental interlude) - I didn't believe him then, nor do I believe him now!
