Live dvd is NYC & HYDE PARK

What a good marketing ploy then, showing the New York bit of it on telly a few weeks before the DVD becomes available......the mind boggles!
Presumably half the songs from one gig, half from the other.
Bit too much overlap on the setlist, surely?!
Er, like basically all of it!

could it be an older hyde park gig?

They've never done any others!
Well Nic, its time to start emailing the Canada & USA Companys to find out if we are getting our Region 1 copys!

there goes that theory![]()
Looking forward to the NYC one. I hope there's lots of footage of me being yelled at for being too tall. That show was probbaly the worst crowd experience I've ever had.

I think it's the de riguer marketing choice with most dvd releases now. live ones at least. they did that with the finsbury park dvd, a month or so before the artifact came out. albeit quite cropped for TV. one TV hour = approx. 46 mins footage. so, as well as the hyde park gig riding on the back of the TV slot there may well be material from NY that doesn't make the C4 slot and sits as a bonus to the DVD buying public. ie the 27 of us....
The Wireless Fest E4 coverage was thin so this will be a welcome release. Just a shame it wasn't their best UK/IRISH gig last year...rain and autocue probs not helping.
It's a pity the Mcr Apollo gig did'nt win over Hyde Park as the set list was much better and so was their performance. Thought there may be some film footage surviving from that pay per view debacle.
I just wish they'd put out a DVD from the Technique tour, or from that era at least... ...(hint hint, has anyone got any boot DVDs available from this era? I'd love to get hold of one - email is markappleby67@hotmail.com .... cheers) ![]()

a low life and a young offender. it takes some of us 5000 posts to become low lifes. :D
sorry i can't really help you.
Ha ha - no probs.... I didn't realise when I was creating my profile that I'd skipped a few 'grades' as I believe they call 'em in the US.
Seeng what time 4Music are showing New Order, I just wish I'd splashed out on Sky+ .... gonna be a long night... ![]()

do what i am doing. i currently have collection on at round and round.
we call them grades is oz as well.
are they really gonna put the two gigs on this disc/discs?
seems a bit , dunno.unless thay cut the gigs in half so as not to repeat the songs on each disc.sure this isn't an error by amazon???
Somehow I missed that thread !
Cutting in half? As far as I know, 316 has 2 full gigs, why would it be otherwise?

yeah but Temptation is the only song that features on both discs! And the version on 3 16 is a lot different from the Taras gig!!
But Hammerstien and Hyde Park is almost the exact same set list
Well, Ana Matronic was only in NYC though :p
I thought the concept of it, as Al Jarvis talked about it last year, was to have one indoor show and one outdoor show..?
Same or not, it's completly different.
Anyways, I emailed the right persons, so hopefully I'll have all the information needed this week.

Not quite. Reading 98 has a few songs cut from the 316 DVD.

People are never happy.. you get 2 gigs for the price of one instead of only one on 511, and you find a way to complain it's the same songs... ![]()
Nobody would have complained if only one of those shows would have been released... go figure

but is it the price of one? will it be double price?
actuslly i look forward to having both gigs. i was just being curious
Attention, Warner Video! A bettah idea!
Set up a gig or two for NO and let them play 80+ minutes of songs they haven't performed for years (This Time of Night, Weirdo, Confusion, The Perfect Kiss, In A Lonely Place, Truth, Everything's Gone Green, Such A Good Thing, Someone Like You, etc.). And tape this concert and release it on DVD. It'd be priceless!
The band themselves will likely enjoy it.

Some of those songs require too much work for them to resurrect. Then again NO being told what to do by a record label. Aint gonna happen.

I had dream that this happened! Exactly like that. Well, I was in the band instead of Phil - but thats only a slight alteration.
As extras I would like to see the songs cut from 316, like World in Motion featuring Gillians busting a move onstage, and maybe some songs from the 98 tour which we havent seen live in ages, like Confusion, which were filmed. Snippets were shown on 511 so we know they have footage somewhere.
I also really hope they dont edit out the banter or false starts like they always do on music dvds. They are my favourite bits!
I was able to spot myself on C4 when the Bravery were playing their set at Hyde Park, hopefully i'll be on the new NO DVD.
I've seen the uncut dvd's of NYC and Hyde Park gigs. good stuff. i could see myself and my little sister on the hyde park dvd, the one they gave me anyway. probably been cut out now though ![]()

Didn't spot some twat repeatedly throwing the remains of plastic poncho rain covers at Hyde Park did you? that was me

Like Olympia 2001
Don't think that was Shamberg, was it?
It was Miles Prowse.
By the way , thanks for the info re: distances from Alicante to Barca.
I do wanna do these gigs though ![]()
