As for bands that sound like NO, can't think of any. Does Joy Division count? One of my favourites now is Interpol, lead singer has a little Ian in him I think.
given the number of recent quality canadian bands that can't be a problem though? surely BSS, the arcade fire, metric, stars etc get loads of airplay?
