The band were on top form, alan wiseman was on top form, intoducing them as the four tops!!!

My wife is convinced that Hooky waved at her, but considering the 20 or so hollering lads behind us, she may be wrong, but she did blow a kiss at him he might have thought his luck was in!

Hooky was great loosing his rag with the security and threatening to walk off.

A well timed dump from phil made the encore a little late, and Barney didn't ruin the JD songs too much with his yelping.

24 hrs was fantastic, as was TPK.

Looking forward to Blackpool now.

Cracking set, Hooky was spot on with the bouncers too.

didnt enjoy that or turn live and they are 2 songs i enjoyed on the album

I also noticed the perfect kiss was in the wrong key

aside from that a good night

Perhaps they changed the key to suit Bernard's voice. Technically a song can be in any key; one can, however, be out of key with everyone else.

I thought they were spot on. Lets face it - a NO gig without mistakes or Bernard forgetting the words wouldn't really be a NO gig would it??!!

Didn't enjoy Alloy Mental.

Hookey threatening the bouncers was funny and amusing to watch the tosser behind us shouting 'Manchester la la la' at every opportunity he got - yes, we know they are from Manchester so no need to keep reminding us.

A top quality night from a top band. 9/10

i had a great night last night (despite twatting my head on the taxi door on the way back to liam's and ending up with a blinding head/backache this morn). the pub meet-up was excellent and quite surreal, meeting everyone whose pictures i've seen for years but whom i've never met. cheers to all for a great evening. good conversation and hawaiian wear at its finest.

a few of the songs were out of tune etc., etc., but it was worth it...especially for hooky's comments about the bouncers.

Top night to be fair, even though security were dickheads. There was a bit of a comedy cat and mouse chase between some guy and a policewoman and guard that lasted for about a song, but i think they eventually got him Highlights were YSF and TPK for me, and Bizarre Love Triangle sounds awesome live, as did Krafty, very impressed by those ones. Cheers to Ally, Nick and everyone else - great first gig roll on Blackpool!

jarvo got a set list but it was identical to athens.

shame it's a shortened tpk, but sounded to lme like they've been playing around with some of the songs a bit (phils doing?) as they seemed a bit different to last year

top performance by the band, not so top by security.

Great night, but totally spoiled by those security pricks. They actually told me to stop dancing, as it wasn't allowed! Muppets. I feel really sorry for those that got thrown out, totally OTT from the security.

Besides that, twas a great night in the Hanover and then the Slaughterhouse, really good to put so many new faces to names (and a star wars character of old). Cheers to PHD for being the perfect host (defo my round next time though Paul!).

Just a few thoughts from a recent NO convert after my first gig...

Firstly, I'd like to say Hi! to the American lady who dropped her ticket on Waterloo Road. Yes, I was the one who gave it back to you. I was gonna hand it in at the venue - honest! If you have seen this, we were just curious as to why a Yank was attending a NO concert in Liverpool. Did you come all this way to see the band or are you a student living in the area?

As far as the concert was concerned, we thought that the support act was awful - no introduction and no breaks between tracks. What was all that about?

We did think that the event was pretty well organised - well signposted, adequate catering and free parking!!! As for security, well, it was difficult to work out what was going on in front of us. Is Hooky always that stroppy or did he have a point?

As far as the performance was concerned, it was great to hear some of those classic tracks live after all these years. Apart from a blinding start (Love Will Tear Us Apart), our highlights were Regret, Bizarre Love Triangle and True Faith (is this the version they always use for a live set?) Also, do the band only ever perform as a 3 or 4 piece or do they use session musicians and/or backing vocalists for live gigs?

Just thought I'd add my own thoughts on last night's gig, also a 'first timer' seeing them live.

Quite simply, last night was superb! Thought the sound was tremendous and the performance by the lads was awesome. It ranks as one of the best gigs I've been too.

I was stood right in front of Hooky and he was spot on with his abuse towards the stewards, they were way over the top. Did anyone see him stab the guy in the back with his bass?!!! Class.

A guy in front of me was thrown out for nothing more than showing the steward his ticket in a very slightly aggressive manner - which you would do when you are in the correct seat and being hassled by them during the gig. He managed to wave at Hooky as they frogmarched him out and I think that's what tipped Hooky over the edge.

If any of the lads on row CC (seats 5 - 9) happen to read this, just want to say thanks for giving the night a superb atmosphere - it's been a while since I hugged another man, never mind a complete stranger dripping in sweat!!!

Roll on Blackpool!

Last Night was the first time since The Birchwood Spectrum Gig in back in 84 or 85 as a 14 or 15 yr old that I have seen the band.

I have to say it was absolutely brilliant.

Fantastic set list Hooky with the Security was spot on.

What a blast!

A cracking day and night which turned a bit sour at the end.

Started in the Hanover about 2.15, couple of pints before the Old Monkey ( I'll have to sort my Woking's from my Worcester's next time! ) entered the house with Marc. Tim is an excellent drinking partner as well. My mate Alan turned up then the Corby Order. Never met Shug before but what a nice guy he is. I felt a bit sorry for Darren aka Baldrick as he was driving so had to stay sober but he was another bloody nice fella.

Moving on to the Slaughter House after a pleasant stroll through the building site er City Centre it was great to put so many faces to the aliases on here. Forgive me for harping on about how great everyone was but it was the truth. So many people from different regions and countries all having a bit of banter and having a bevvy. Anyway always a pleasure to see Al Jarvis. Absolute gent and if you're up here again you know where to find me. The lovely Lucy-Jane, Jemma ( really nice girl but mad as a hatter! ) and Christy. Good to see Captain Frad's and his very pretty girl, JG, Hibster, Wolfram, Big Nick King, Ally, Ness, Johnny Kershaw ( sound lad for a Red!! ) JT, Dave Legge, Chris Nash, Alex, Shug's bro ( the Roy Keane lookalike), Biggy and not forgetting Liam ( another nice chap ), Grahame ( if you come back down here let me know! ) Monty you're an absolute star and funny to boot. Nice one mate! Digital Mike, Rocket and Garymac are hereby known as the three amigos. Never laughed so much with these fellas. Absolutely top drawer! I hope I haven't missed anyone out. Someone post a picture of Bonzy up. I was quite bladdered near the end and don't remember seeing her.

The band themselves I thought went through the motions although the sound was excellent. As said previously seats and NO don't go. Having said that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highlight of the set was The Perfect Kiss. I'm surprised I didn't get chucked out falling in to everyone and waving a plastic bottle of water over my head. 'Ardcore that!!

The end of the night was pants. Everything has been said on this matter. It's just worse when it happens in your city. Gutted some people missed the set. Getting chucked out for dancing, what's that all about? Thanks everyone it was a great day.

Have to say that was one of the most pathetic attempts to control a crowd I have ever seen. Didn't quite get thrown out, but did get warned for standing up in the front row (unbelieveable in itself), for treading on the edge of the barrier (I kid you not) and for having the temerity to dance (to cap it all). Not entirely sure why I was in the front row, seeing as my ticket was for the 5th row, but there you go. Then to find out so many fine vikings had been ejected is just not on. If that wasn't bad enough, I then got enveloped by a giant slug on the way back to the hotel. Have to say as well that the Adelphi is the most over-rated posh hotel in the history of posh hotels. Crap, undercooked breakfast, room was pleasant enough but I'd have felt ripped off if I'd paid full whack for it. Shite first-class service on the train back as well. Where's the bevvy, lads? Where's the butties?

She got in my taxi about 6 or 7 months ago. Went from Heaton Mersey to Great Western street.

I didn't recognise her at first but started talking and she told me she was a singer. Apparently she just does the New Order stuff part time and is studying for a degree in Music as well.

Nice girl, shit tipper though.

I'm pretty sure she wasn't there last night, I couldn't see her and her vocal segments sounded like they were right off the album version I.e. taped. I too was wondering what Barney was banging on about with "K-Klass" before TF as it was Perfecto who did the house remix of said tune! I'm sure he said something like "we're going to play a remix" then followed it with K-Klass.

Not too sure about your idea of a short walk though. It was bloody miles from the pub to the venue. Fuckin' funny though, Diamond and Jem and Me started lagging behind so I jumped out in front of a taxi who took us the rest of the way. The three of us were argueing about who was paying the £2 fare so we all ended up giving him £2
