Hooky spun an unreleased NO track last night at Dirty South, Lewisham.

For those who were there, what did you think of it? Did you even realise it was a new track? :spit: It was quite late on and we'd put abit away by then

To my ears, it sounded a bit like Turn, very guitar driven, but a slightly faster tempo. Overall, v impressed.

Anyone else?

Bastards.

I woke up Ally this morning, he sounded fucking terrible and no mention of the new track

Ness has just mentioned this on the Ceremony forum, a mix of WFTSC & Turn.

Sounds good to me :shades:

Not exactly a bad pedigree is it? Turn meets WFTSC...jammy bastards, the lot of you

Or is this a hoax?:skeptic:

No - he did play it, he was looking at us all for our reaction when we picked up on it being a new track! he said they were still working on it and it wasn't a finished track.

So it was singular not plural? - I thought Sister and Brother - not that it matters really!

I thought it was great! Shug it was right up your street

Right up Shuggy Bear's alley then was it...so gay disco???

:shades:

I'll Gay Disco ye! ;)

I wonder what the chances are of this being played in October then???

This has me thinking that Bournemouth is a MUST go to gig there may be a slim chance of a debut or two. I havnae got a ticket yet, but it's on my to do list once I've paid the others who sorted me with Glasgow, Blackpool and Wembley :uhoh:

I had already disappeared by the time he played this! :banghead:

Quality set though. Captain & Tenile first (as always) then played Paul Haig's Atmosphere second, and no Grace Jones last night. The the Killers next up after that, I think?

Did he play Confusion mixed in with something else as well?! Basically just Barney's vocal over a completely different track?!

Mixed it with Gorillaz "Dare".

I. Was. Fucked.

Fumbled for my mobile and all I could hear was "Shalalalala" from Wdywfm? in the background and you banging on about "the videos are fucked, there's these lines I can't get rid of!". I think I just groaned then hung up, sorry Shug!

As for the new tune, it sounded pretty good from what I can remember. I agree with JG it was a bit like a faster Turn and didn't come across as a "heavy" track; a more poppy affair.

Fooked if I can remember any of the lyrics unfortunately :(

No worries ya big jessie

Production has started on the Revenge & Monaco Promo's. Nickos Kingos sent me the banned versions of Pineapple Face, unfortunately the video is chipped, so as soon as you try and record - the picture fucks up :nonono:

Sounds like ye's all had a good night though :thumb:

At his defense, it's the first thing he told me when he got back from there and talked to me online... apparently pissed

For reasons I can't quite fathom, after I got back from Dirty South I decided to open a bottle of beer and watch an episode of 24. At 3am. After a skinful.

'ardcore

But yes, I did inform Nic about the new track in a semi-coherent way as soon as I got in :shades:

Inspired by U2 perchance?

:ignore:

:spit:

Anything new is welcome though!

Such good news, now I HAVE TO go to Hooky DJ set in São Paulo next september. After doing some maths I see I will be working the next days only to pay for NO live performances. Hope to listen these Sisters and Brothers....

Would it be possible to download some version of it? (OK, I am asking TOO much, I know, but you can't blame me for trying) :thumb: :thumb:

That's what i've been thinking - they have lined up a fair load of gigs in the Autumn - kinda hoping there might be an album or single to promotr while they are at it! (Or even the long awaited release of TURN:clap: ) Probably wont get anything new at the Electric Picnic (only 4-5 weeks away now) - another reason for considering Wembley or the magical mystery gig instead (i'd love to do all 3 - & include the nool day out of course - but it looks like I can't do more than 1:nonono: so I'll have to choose carefully)

Love is very strange, it can come and go It can happen when you are young or old When it comes, it comes from nowhere When it comes, it changes your life

Sisters and Brothers Love and laughter Tears of sadness and happiness We will find out our Sisters and Brothers Are what, we too, were once about

Love can happen now, and it happened then Wondered at the time what love really meant When it came, it came from nowhere When it came, it altered my life

Sisters and Brothers Love and laughter Tears of sadness and happiness We will find out our Sisters and Brothers Are what, we too, were once about

What do I think I think people need to start bringing their recorders to the dj sets!

So Jack, is it called Sisters & Brothers or Sister & Brother?

From what I can remember, the names of songs for the next cd that we know are: Sugercane, Madonna & Bothers & Sisters. I thought there was 1 or 2 more? Does anybody remember?

Wow - that's brilliant!

Can't wait to hear it set to music.

It's obviously about Ian Curtis.

And wanking, of course

Though we'd all love it, I sure hope it will never happen.

Otherwise Hooky will stop doing this.

Remember what happened with Turn?

What happened with Turn? He played it for me at Turnmills and it was so fucking loud I thought he told me it was "Hurt!".....

This new one Sisters and Brothers is very melodic; I don't think its dancey; fair bit of keyboard in there but definately NO....

And by the way :thumb: 1000!!!!!!!!! :thumb:

4 figures at last!!

Come on!!

Well at least I didn't make it with just having short posts saying f*ck all all the bloody time. Bastards. You really know how to put a dampener on things don't you? :nonono:

The proper lyrics are...

Is it getting better Or do you feel the same Will it make it easier on you now You got someone to blame You say...

One love One life When it's one need In the night One love We get to share it Leaves you baby if you Don't care for it

Did I disappoint you Or leave a bad taste in your mouth You act like you never had love And you want me to go without Well it's...

Too late Tonight To drag the past out into the light We're one, but we're not the same We get to Carry each other Carry each other One...

Have you come here for forgiveness Have you come to raise the dead Have you come here to play Jesus To the lepers in your head

Did I ask too much More than a lot You gave me nothing Now it's all I got We're one But we're not the same Well we Hurt each other Then we do it again You say Love is a temple Love a higher law Love is a temple Love the higher law You ask me to enter But then you make me crawl And I can't be holding on To what you got When all you got is hurt

One love One blood One life You got to do what you should One life With each other Sisters Brothers One life But we're not the same We get to Carry each other Carry each other

One...life

Is that the actual song title? (The phrase "Sisters and Brothers" kind of reminds me of the lyrics from Electronic's "Tighten Up"....)

If they scrapped them...then why not throw the fans a bone with the tracks that they don't feel like officially releasing :D

I really hope that they didn't scrap them altogether...and thanks everyone for the news about the new track...whets my appetite for more...

No, he said they'd binned the Brian Higgins stuff, which was single mixes etc I understand. They've still got the stuff they did with Tore Johannson for the next album, seven tracks. When they get back from Brazil they'll probably start working on the rest of the album.

And there's me thinking it went:

"When the angels from above Come down and spread their wings like doves And we'll walk hand in hand Sisters, brothers, we'll make it to the promised land"

They scrapped the songs they did with Brian Higgins. "Sucarcane" was produced by Tore Johanssen and "Madonna" by Stephen Street, so they're (I hope...) due to appear in the forthcoming album

I doubt it Tim, I think they will work on the Control soundtrack, unless they won't do any new material for that one... but then why would they claim to do the soundtrack!

I'd rather have a new NO album than some JD covers for a soundtrack.. Would be nice if they could do both...

Are these the lyrics then?:

If you could see what I could see maybe we could all get along And maybe I can justify the bad things in life that I've done So I call out for feelings I know that don't ever exist I won't be ashamed of my bones and my blisters So come on - come on my brothers and sisters

Chorus

And the slower that you go the greener the grass grows And what we all need is love in our lives So go about your business cos life ain't your mistress Come on come on my brothers and sisters

CRAP, i've just realised - they are just bringing together a whole load of crap bands who want to be NO

As above we already have U2, Oasis et al. theres also the Chilli peppers: "So love all your brothers And love all your sisters Love all the misses And love all the misters"

& even - insertDeity forbid - Coldplay - Sisters and Brothers was their 1st single
