were to do one of those "play a whole classic album in order" gigs that are getting more prevalent, which album would you like to see them do?

for me would have to be low life - the perfect kiss, love vig, face up, sunrise....

of course it'll never happen. :nonono:

Won't happen if you get them in the wrong order Hibster!

Re: Order already did this, on the 21st anniversary of Low Life.

New Order almost did it themselves a couple of times with Movement, and of course did play Substance A sides in order on at least two occasions in 1987 (Toronto and Irvine Meadows, may be others we don't know about).

20th anniversary, surely?!

Low-Life for me too, I guess.

It'll never happen, mind.

20th of course, I was thinking about the debuts of Face Up etc in 84!

I've started to think this recently about all my favourite bands, which albumn would I want to see.

For New Order, definitely Power Corrpution and Lies. Not necessarily my favourite album, but definitely the most interesting I think. Maybe with an added EGG/Temptation on the end of 586. Opening a gig with Age Of Consent, and finishing it with Leave Me Alone would be incredible.

Lowlife or Technique, can't quite decide.

I think Technique would be entertaining not only for the tunes, but because they are so different on stage than they were on the Technique tour, be interesting to see the difference.

Love to see them do 'Movement' NOW...obviously be a short set! Throw in the singles & b-sides circa '81 too & that's a quailty set! But,to be boring, would have to be 'Low Life'.Could do what The Cure did a few years back tho',& do a 5 night residency at the M.E.N.,& do the first 5 albums back to back.....ORGASMIC.. :) :thumb:

i wasn't listing the track order, just 4 reasons why it'd have to be that one!

yeah, knew about the substance gigs & did think of that, but it's not in the spirit of this series of gigs to do a best of

Low-Life or Technique would be my choice.

Got to be Power, Corruption + Lies. AOC, We All Stand, The Village, 586, YSF, Ultraviolence, Ecstacy and LMA. Never gonna happen though. I'd be happy hearing Age Of Confookingsent just once more.

Admittedly,the M.E.N.'s not the best venue,but they're massive now,right? & 5 nights to hear 5 different albums,5 different set lists.They were the days..... :\ohwell:  :thumb:

Nobody knows they are so unpredictable sometimes...who could say they were going to play in Brazil this year... We can ask Jack to convince his father

:evil4:

My choice is Low life and Technique.

TECHNIQUE!

or

Low Life

or

WFTSC.

Why do they never play any Technique songs live...?

Too much risk of PTSD chemical flashbacks?

I've seen They Might Be Giants do this with Flood a couple times. (One time they posed as their own opener a TMBG Tribute band called Saphire Bullets) They did it when the album went platinum like 12 years after it was released (haha). It was cute the first time and got old quickly.

I somehow for some reason see that if New Order were to do this once, they'd do it too much and beat a dead horse into the ground as well. :-P

I'd like PCL though then Low-Life

I think PC&L: AOC, We All Stand (sounds great live), The Village, 586 (!!) and we'd get a debut of Ecstasy - which would be nice to see.

Although Low-Life and Technique would be great to witness in their complete forms live

play nothing but jd songs at a gig....now that will never happen.

Paul Young's 'No Parlez'...

I'd choose Movement 'cause those songs were done live so much better then on the album. And I would love to hear Denial live once again or doubts even here

They've only done it twice so far!

They also did Substance for those who claimed that one.

If I had the choice, it would probably be either Get Ready or WFTSC because it's the two they didn't play many live songs from, or should I say, maybe unplayed songs. Plus, they are the longest

But since they don't fit in "classic" yet, I'd go for Technique.. though I really don't like Fine Time, so they could skip it.

But I'd be happy with Singles :evil4:

Movement, simply because almost all the tracks haven't been played live for so long... As someone else said throw in Ceremony, IALP, EGG, etc. and :thumb: I'd love to hear something off Movement get an overhaul - strong songs, crap production, but decent live from what I've heard... Bring back Cries & Whispers...

Technique. It is my favorite New Order record and I think the songs flow nicely. I was too young for the Technique tour and they don't seem to play anything live from that album anymore so I'd like to hear those tunes live.

new order do this all the time. currently they are doing singles.

I would take a repeat of the '82 tour from Blackpool, or any or the other early dates.

Procession Ceremony 586 Truth We All Stand Hurt Everything's Gone Green Age Of Consent Ultraviolence

Movement. Everyone always goes on about poor production on it, but in it's whole, it's a good album. Doubts Even Here or The Him '06 would be amazing.

ONE song from Technique'll do, let alone the entire album...

Substance AGAIN!!!!!!:thumb:
