Does it automatically mean it's yuk then?
Cause if so, it's a tie between Young Offender & Run Wild :\ohwell:

I don't know about cheesy, but I really don't like Working Overtime - I think it's absolute rubbish pants balderdash.
Cheesiest doesn't equal 'worst' in my book. Run Wild is an OK track but the lyrics are still trite to me, regardless of the sentiment behind them. That's my vote then.
As for the cheesiest soundwise, I wouldn't pick a song for that, just a particular bit that annoys me is enough. So that honour goes to the bass sequencer in Face Up.
Shellshock for me - always thought it was a bit contrived.
I think Jetstream is a cool song - one of my favourites.
In this case cheese does equal worst - Liar, by a country mile... Lite, throwaway dance-pop at it's worst... I love Run Wild, ok, it may be a bit cheesy, but fair play to them for experimenting...

Jetstream got my vote. I dont like it, I dont like Scissor Sisters, I dont like Ana matronic
ive gone for jetstream. dont know why you've got fine time in the list, classic track of its time...

Agree, lyrically it makes me slightly uncomfortable.Think it's Bernard singing about god & jesus & the 'gospel' sounding backing.Of course he can sing about what he wants, just never thought god & jesus would ever be in a N.O. song.Think the cover of Vietnam is complete Camembert tho'....

Jetstream I think it's probably one of their worse songs. I have the same feeling "My god this is so cheesy and horrible!" when I listen to PSB's (or should I say Diane Warren-penned) "Numb", by the way.
J-E-T is the obvious choice, but I actually think we were meant to take it seriously...

I'd vote THTHOG, although it's an unashamedly, self conscious cheeseorama.
JETSTREAM
Its the one track i wouldn`t play if i was trying to show someone how great New Order are.
Alot of NO stuff sounds cheesy and dated. Id vote for Liar though. Thieves like us and Perfect Kiss have some cheesy keyboard and guitar riffs but thats a by product of being 80's recorded.

Yeah, but the Face Up reference sounds like a poor 'off the shelf' Stockaitkenandwaterman line.
In any case, I had to vote JET - despite the presence of SOTN, which is quite possibly my least favourite Neworder track of all time.
J.A.K wrote: where's Age of Consent.
that's surely one of the wiffieist!
you serious? its brilliant!
Liar, by a landslide, surely?
Those lyrics. That awful organ!
Pure cheese.
Quite surprised by some of the options - TBTHOG, cheesey? Eh?

No.
it's fucking brilliant! timeless perfection.
"World in Motion" ... my initial response was "is this a joke?" thou it does have its charm. "Run Wild" is just embarrassing.

I'm not English, so I don't see its point.
If your were you would, and you really wouldn't have voted for it.
It's obviously the J-E-T thing with Anna Manthing - NO's most blatant commercial venture to date.
For some reason, State of the Nation always struck me as New Order trying to be New Order trying to be cool. I just don't like the song, but I do like the live versions. It is completely shambolic live - a true mess....fantastic. But the studio version and song overall, i could very much do without.
WOT'S FINE TIME DOING THERE? Yeah I voted Run Wild, even cheesier than Jetstream. Not even saved by Barney's melodica.
None of those listed (although the worst of them would be State)
for me, it HAS TO BE
THIEVES LIKE US
Purest Chedar there - its in the lyrics man
'love is the cure for every evil, love is the air that supports the eagle'
its so - moving :barf:
all worthy of cheesiet votes, but J-E-T has to be the cheesiest, it has the cheesy lyrics, cheesy stewardess thing, and cheesy special guest vocalist.
My vote, were the song there, would be for Subculture John Robie annihilation. It stinks worse than camembert ![]()
Of those listed, it's Shellshock for me. It's so cheesy it's crackers.
Jizzstream would be third.
