Hi there folks,

As you are aware, we have a podcast here on NewOrderOnline which is located here and since I was unable to do a steady show since the beginning of the year, I'm always looking for people to help.

I just had an idea that would be very interesting, it would be if many people could do a show with the top 10 songs of their life (not exclusively New Order) and comment them, record everything, send it back to me, I'd put intro/outro and we'd have a show, maybe we would discover new songs....!

How about it?

If you are interested, let me know, I would love to post one of these a week to make our podcast more serious, so it becomes the radio of the members of New Order Online and not exclusively about New Order, because in many shows, I think I ran out of ideas and inspiration to fill 1h of New Order weekly ;)

Let me know!

Sounds interesting... Would there be any copyright issues if we are allowed to choose any choons?

Sounds interesting, I'd be game. CTB :bear:

I'd be down for that. :) I have some experience in that scene, man. heh

Sounds awesome, if only my hard drive didn't break a while back!

Will start thinking of the playlist now.

What programs do you recommend to record the radio session? I have a mic and some cds, I just need a means of recording.

Count me in.

Ps, Nic, as opposed to my favourite songs which are quite eclectic, would it be alright just to do a regular playlist? I've got a theme and it should be quite coherent.

And it looks like I won't be doing any work today.

Sounds like a top idea.

I'm sure I have an "Under The Influence" iChoons playlist I did a while ago kicking around somewhere...

When I record Everything's Gone Grey, I use Acid Pro and Cool Edit 2000. Always turns out fine. :)

I downloaded Audacity which seems really simple to use.

I've spent most the day going through my CDs and I've compiled the 10 songs, just need to record it all now. I've got my theme sorted and hopefully it should be on the internets soon. :D

i'm afraid that my 10 favourite songs can't be the perfect DJ 'set.

Let's not care about that.

I'll watermark the music anyways, we're in "gray" zone.

Well, that was the concept, afterwards if you want to do some playlist, why not.

Interest is slowly ebbing away as I can't make/convert cds into mp3s for the podcast. Fucking wmas.

That's ok, I can convert it afterwards.

I'm in! Must say though, I agree with the idea of just doing a general playlist instead of "Top 10 of your life." From a DJing standpoint, it's just easier not to have rules.

eh, just pick your 10 songs...and then lie to us...tell us it's YOUR top 10...

I'll do this if I caan have someone else do it with me for a bit of between song banter and someone tells me how the fuck to do it and what I need.

You mean you're not going to instantly dismiss something as crap?

Picked my 10. Now need to put them all together and come up with some witty repartee to entertain. Expect the unexpected.

The latter meaning you're not going to complete it? :evil4:

Well I was thinking of asking you to do it for me. Assuming you'd recognise the tracks, that is......

I could easily throw 10 tracks together that would span the different styles of music. Dont know about this talking lark though...

Ok I have my songs (not the top 10 of my life, but 10 songs that I really like a lot) so how do I go about recording them?

Right,

Me and Tricky (who some people on here know) are going to do this. We will need technical help though. And will be recording it on the May Bank Holiday weekend as he's buggering off to Spain for two weeks on Thursday.

I will say this, everyone on here knows every New Order track, so we wont be playing ANY. Because really, there would be no point at all.

How will this work?

Do we make, then submit the rather large MP3 of a show direct to you Spotty?

technology sorted.

is this definitley happenning. I'm planning on recording this weekend.

Anybody did anything yet?

I gave up - too much hassle and plus I get motivated over things right away then it kinda peters out like ADD.

I had a nice summer mix ready as well.

Bleh.

Yes I've done mine. Will send it across over the weekend.

People who want to send it to me, I suggest using dropload http://www.dropload.com to nleblanc@neworderonline.com

Cheers.

Or if you have me on your msn list, just check if I'm there.

Is emailing you a (rather large) mp3 of a show acceptable?

I've been broadcasting my favourite New Order stuff, and loads of unsigned, exciting and brand new music for almost a year now over at http://www.dandelionradio.com - visit the site to listen to our looping, monthly streamed shows from myself and half a dozen presenters. We are an online station inspired by John Peel, run by volunteers. Radio 1 handed over Peel's 'Festive Fifty' listeners poll to us at the end of 2006.

My previous tracklistings can be found at http://www.andrewmorrison.co.uk/tracklists, for you to see the type of stuff I've been playing.

Cheers,

Andy
