Taras, PFD, or Academy

I've not seen all of Academy, but I prefer Taras over PFD. Some more youtube from Academy would be great.

Taras for me, even though most of the precious classics are missing. The tightest gig of them all, I picked it probably because of the early Temptation though.

PFD - an OK gig & footage, but could've been better. Still prefer Hooky's actual Clone Theory over the faked one.

Academy - a case of ruining a good gig with lousy post production and effects. And, well, camerawork. Hooky's sweat during DNE still gives me mental images of '80s action movie heroes.

If you include the unofficial ones, it's Leuven 1985 then.

Taras for me, because of the attitude/aptitude of the band, by far. The youthful feel of material and the backlash against the cold hipsters in the audience. I have a case of love for the earliest of early and this videoed gig seems to sum it all up well for me.

yeah ,Taras for me too.PFD is alright but as for Academy ,well i only ever watched it a few times.

PFD is from my favourite era of the band, but I think I prefer Academy slightly (at least I would were it not for the unnecessary removal of Touched and the decimation of Dreams Never End). Never really liked Taras all that much.

Another vote for Academy from the Older Order. Great set list and performance and have to agree with Jarvo concerning audience participation or the lack of on the other videos although the fella nodding during the intro to Temptation on Taras deserves a mention.

They missed off "Touched"? Blimey, I didnt know that. Do you know why?

The gig sounds great but agree about the post production being anal. Why not have the interview segments at the end of the video? And the shoddy Temptation reprise was a bad idea. It even sounds like the camera, sound crew missed the opening bar of BLT.

Q magazine gave Academy a terrible review when it appeared, stating that the band were horrendous that night and slagged off the interview section.

Academy but to be honest, it's merely the best of a bad bunch. Could have been great if it wasn't for the dodgy "effects", the interview ruining DNE and it starting half-way through the first song!

PFD is shite (especially at 8AM with a rotten hangover in a Tokyo hotel room through dodgy laptop speakers, thanks Col! ;)) and Tars Gorbachev aint much better.

My vote goes to Academy

Interesting to see Taras coming out top considering how Movement is slagged off so much. For me, Taras is like watching a different, and much better, band than the later shows. The only thing that betters it for power and intensity is the 'Celebration' set and that is marred by a crappy sound mix. I wish some of their '82 European tour had been caight on video as I suspect those would have been best of all.

The band were awesome that night, as was the crowd, best gig I've been to. TBTHoG wasn't that bad, a bit of feedback but not much else. Academy was spoiled by the effects and the interview but remains the best official video.

Academy for the songs - even though Mike 'cue the music Adam & the ants' Mansfield ruined the look of it. Strahge to think they were worried about the cover more than his directing!

PFD... Very funny to see Sumner kicking Steve's bass drum mike and screaming "down!" to Edie (the guy on the soundboard).

Academy as it was my era and brings the memories flooding back. Did love Taras for the haunting innocence but not PFD purely for the lack of an audience - the set and band were fine. Althought not official I do love Leuven 1985 - what PFD should have been.

There's a poor quality copy of it on youtube. I really wish someone would upload a good one and perhaps the rest of academy. PFD is up there in full...

PFD for me

All good, but Academy comes last cos the interview clips running over the songs spoils it. They're all better than the latter concert dvds though.
