I think maybe one last album, it wouldn't be the same without hooky, but as they already have some songs done, they probably have hooky on them.
BTW has anyone else noticed on hooky's myspace he doesn't have an end date of his time with NO, but does for gillian.

Consensus seems to be that WFTSC produced one last classic--the title track. I always felt that it sounded like a swansong. It's unlikely they'll write anything better than that. I thought Krafty was a good effort at trying to replicate the old sound, but it got savaged by a lot of folks. I'm sure NO are finding it difficult to please themselves, let alone their rather demanding fanbase.
If no Hook, it's not New Order.
Let's hope Bernard does not turn "New Order" into a total joke...
They could go off and on for years. Their style has amazing staying power and I don't buy for a second that they don't enjoy the hell out of it.

Do you know what? I never even consider the fact that they might actually enjoy it.
They should just repackage the unfinished songs as Electronic's fourth studio album feat. Peter Hook (as opposed to repackaging Electronic's second unofficial album as "Republic") 
Without Hooky, it's not really worth it and I hope they don't, though even if they do and we get Republic Part 2, well, if we get just one track like Regret, it's not all bad...

Why all this mentioning of Electronic? In case you all forgot Electronic was Bernard and Johnny (Marr - The Smiths, if you remember!), not New Order without Hooky.
well ,,,,, how would bass king feel when news of recording surfaces in 3/4 years time,,, ah cant remember what the fuss was about,, so who knows.
one of the reasons they gave it a rest after 89 was th e effects ,sounds were all the same,, so time to move on.
this is the crisis i knew had to come.
I'd love them to do another album sometime - there was loads to cherish in Get Ready and WFTSC. Played "Singles" t'other day and "Crystal" and "Here to Stay" stopped me in my tracks - astounding 21st century popular music.
And I've said before how much I love "I Told You So" - a loping beast of a tune, mad brilliance - well Madchester as someone commented.
But to be honest I can't see another album.

They allegedly already have another studio album pretty much finished don't they? Recorded before the Hooky/MySpace saga exploded onto our screens last month?
So we're potentially talking about a new studio album beyond the Sirens' leftovers? It's notoriously difficult to predict that far into the future with them. Who can say if we'll even get the Sirens' leftovers at this point? Sisters And Brothers (?) last year in Lewisham plus numerous interviews prove they do have material languishing unreleased.

Turn is great, but I don't rank it as a classic. WFTSC has more of that feel; like a proper ballad. Don't think it's really bollocks to say anything about consensus; everything I've read on this board since spring '05 suggests WFTSC is the most appreciated track off the album.
I would love to see them do another album I would hate for New Order to leave us in the dark:( If they did I hope it will take off like hot cakes

To the question "will they release", then the answer will surely be YES.
It has to happen sometime, they will release the left overs of the WFTSC sessions, it's already recorded, no need to have Hooky and Bernard in the same room for that.
That's the label's call really... it could be an EP, everybody would be happy.

my guess is that Bernard Sumner will finish those left-overs like he did with Republic and "Let's go", this time maybe with Stephen. so expect Hooky's bass being low in the mix... but I can't imagine putting them out as an EP as Bernard is known for being "overprofessional" for demands of the record industry - so no clue how to fill this material up to an album of 50 mins?
seriously nobody knows how Hooky will feel for New Order when the novelty will be gone from his DJ career and Freebass will get the attention all his projects got, namely being mediocre attempts doing something else. and the last thing this world is waiting for would be another Monaco album which imho was a shameless copy of New Orders different moods anyway. must be cruel for both if you're only able to produce your best music with a partner you just can't stand anymore.
Bernard should rerecord Get The Message with Melanie C on backing vocals and get her to take all her clothes off in the video.
I REALY hope they do. Get Ready and Sirens Call were definetely a return to form. And they can't release another album without a tour :D

Turn is a beautiful arc of golden piss that lands directly on WFTSC's face.
Good as WFTSC is, it's not a patch on Turn.
Shamberg proved this by making a classic promo for Turn and a turd for Sirens.

Yeah, It'll come in a saville designed sleve, made out of freshly nitted fog, suplied with a book with a forward by ian curtis, rob gretton and martin hannet. the sleve will be a picture of barney and hooky kissing and hugging!

There are some classic tracks on that album, WFTSC, Krafty, Turn, Guilt, Morning Night and Day, Hey Now.
It is in the top three of NO albums I listen to the most, - WFTSC, PCL and Low Life.
Not sure if you NO care about pleasing us..........

Can anyone tell me- Did Hooky and Bernard get into a spat (again) to cause all this? That's how it sounded when Hooky was asked if NO had broken up. Something like "Well, I'm not working with Bernard anymore."
