My fav is still the original 12" version. Confusion would probably make my top ten list on most occasions. Just love the 'why can't you see why can't you see' line .. Just one hell of a catchy song with another cool Hooky bass riff ...

Gotta agree there mate, i remember being about oooh 10 when it came out and i thought it was great then, everyone else i grew up with thought it was 'fuckin wierdo shit' so i knew it was good. The end is fantastic.
Yep, the original 12" version is still the best one. It sounds raw today but I like it anyway. The video is nice as well. Have you noticed that Barney and Hooky have swapped instruments in their first appearance at the beginning of the video?

So Young and Tell Me. It's a Thin Line Production, dated 1st aug. 1985 Just a fragment from the Press release note i got with it: "In early '85 following a highly successful tour of Sweden and Norway THIN LINE enlisted the services of producer MARTIN HANNETT (who has since become a director of THIN LINE PRODUCTIONS), the result of this union is the Stone Roses debut single So Young/Tell Me"

Ricardo, when New Order really were "new" (oh, my sick sense of humour!), Barney used to play bass live on some songs. "Confusion" was one of them.
