An Ebay seller is selling a Signed Copy of Transmission by Ian Curtis. What concerns me, is the very same guy sold the same item months ago, after 3 months you cannot view the details of any transactions so I cannot check who bought it first time round. Does anyone know who bought it, as I have a feeling that this may just be another Autograph Ebayer Con Artist, just look at the rest of the stuff he is selling?

yup,,had a lookie yesterday and the first thing that strikes is the level of bullshit,, didt look like ians autograph , and its placed too obviously on the sleave to have been signed after a gig as claimed,, he wont be getting my £31.09 or whatever its gone up to now.

Don't know if this is genuine or not but the seller seems to be trying too hard to convince us that it is.
I suppose it has more chance of being genuine than the copy of the Transmission 12" (!!!) vinyl signed by Ian that was advertised on eBay a while ago.
Can anyone smell haddock? Sardines maybe? Something's fishy... It does look a bit like Ian's signature, but something about the 'desperate to convince' listing doesn't sit right. A hand written proof of 'providence'? By the seller? That's only useful if you've run out of bog roll. A photo of the seller with Ian, preferably signing the thing, would convince me. Otherwise, I'd call 'bullshit' on this one and feel sorry for the poor arsehole who's just bid £77 for it...
Alot of the time, especially in the 1970s and earlier, autographs were in biro, not felt pen - and a biro autograph is FAR more difficult to fake. Fakers prefer to use felt pen.
It would be interesting to see which pressing of Transmission it was - that would at least knock out some of the doubt or bring the seller down in flames.
It would be helpful if he'd stated in the auction where and when the single was signed. Birmingham 1978 maybe? Or perhaps Glasgow 1981?
He can't even spell! Hope he managed to spell 'Ian Curtis' correctly... 
Never really understood the value of an autograph unless you are the one who received the autograph personally.
Why would you want to trust this guy and pay him lots of money. He doesn't seem to think it is worth holding on to... He is either a professional scumbag who bothers musicians for autographs so he can sell them or lies about it, either way a douche bag.
He says he got them all himself, he's even managed to get Jim Morrison and Jimmy Hendrix, Hmmmmm, I'm copying everything he is selling I am sure the same stuff comes up every 3 months so no one can go back and check the items from the feedback, I have asked him the question, if he doesn't answer the jobs I cud yin and bidders ort to be warned!!!

always thought the "door" at the start of the "love wil tear us apart" vid had ian , writen by mr curtis on it, otherwise you have to rely on the handwriten lyrics and letters in various books to see his style.

I do not think that Ians is the hardest to forge, I do have his signature but I have not scanned it yet. Hooky told me he has a Copy of Sordide that Ian has signed, I suppose Jack has seen it.
I just find it hard to believe that this guy pops up every three months selling this vast collectetion and comes up with the same record. He boasts how rare it is to get Ians signature and there has never been one on Ebay before yet he deffo was selling one exactly the same over three months ago Nov time I think, just wish you could go back on his feedback to check the item so I can prove it. I have asked the guy how come he has two, no response, I have also asked the top bidder to ask the same question. Why only Ians signature and not anyone else, with the two guys in Chester case in the press at the mo for selling forged football gear at their shop and Ebay having so much gear to sell seams to very very dodgy. If you check some of the prices that have gone for some of the gear he has sold he is making a fortune, if he plans to to go to Australia as he states well he certainly knows how to raise the air fare. In fact thats where we use to send our convicts,and once he is over in oz, he will be untouchable. If something usually is too good to be true it usually is.

Yes I spotted that - interesting in choosing these people the seller knows the signer cannot now be asked to verify the signature.

Surprised this guy hasn't claimed to have jumped on Elvis for autographs, when he got off that plane in Scotland for refuelling.
Well I'm top bidder again, but as the guy refuses to reply to any uncomfortable questions, he won't be seeing my money. I'll make sure nobody else wins it and save them the hassle of finding out it's fake later.
Shame, would have gone great with my autographed Atmosphere 12"...
All my bids have been cancelled, but he confirmed his second copy was signed at the same time before he booted me out.
I suggest winning the thing and then refusing to pay, let Ebay sort it out...
I asked the seller how come they were selling a 2nd copy of Transmission signed by Ian, they have just replied with the statement, "cant I have two copies", the answer not according to your own listing where they state that they have never seen an Ian Autograph up before, yeah short mememory mate, you had one up 3 months ago. I contaced the last buyer who left feedback cpatharris who has stated that they have found out that the Hendrix and Eagles autographs are fakes, shame they had already but pos feedback on. Can I ask you all to bombared all the items for sale with high bids, win and straight away put on neg feedback and get ring of this con man for good!!!
I agree it sounds dodgy, but it has to be said, my signatures aren't always the same. Depends what mood I'm in 
£870 now!

Like I mentioned before, email EBay and ask for an investigation. I had a guy sell me a ripped DVD, told EBay and they had him kicked off in three days. They don't handle these things lightly, and have taken many to court....
Don't know much about e-bay but the bidding looks mighty odd to me.Bidder 1, bidder 2 etc etc + the winner doesn't seem to have either won anything or sold anything before.
Yes alifetimes work has relisted the item after slumpy decided er not to buy it at £2000, funny though, another version of the same listing has also appeared on Ebay I certainly hope it doesn't put off anyone bidding on alifetimes con item!!!
That "autographed" record sold for £2050!
