Just a little thread to mention how for me the latest DVD offering has left me wanting the band still to be a going concern.This is the first time i feel almost underwhelmed that although there is some interesting LIVE footage it seems that it was too far in the past to be as INTERESTING unless another tour and piss up was on the horizon!My whole collection could start gathering DUST and that would be a shame.Maybe time to move on. Let's be honest we all knew the end was inevitable on the last tour, just a shame as we could have done with one more year really.

The band may have stopped but The Vikings are hitting Barca in July for Summercase.

Looking at it from a slightly different perspective, is anyone slightly relieved (in the nicest possible way) that it's all over? Gigs at Butlins and the Here And Now Tour were looking a distinct possibility!!

Something had to give. Watching them stagger around to BLT in their sixties wasn't a pretty thought.

I hoped they'd have more longevity in the studio. It's likely they'd never have delivered another Low Life, but if there were a few more "Turns" or a "WFTSCs", I'd have been buzzed.

The "Joy" had vanished a long time ago.

I'm getting my "Joy" this year from Interpol, Editors, The Hold Steady, Holy Fuck, The Kissaway Trail, Maps, MGMT, Death Cab For Cutie, Ladytron etc etc. Nothing stopping anybody else from doing the same! :nod:

I didn't really see them touring too much longer, but studio albums would have been great, I agree. There is still a chance. I think they have a lot of great music still in them if they'd just let it happen.

At least most of you had the chance to see them! I was born after True Faith, but i cherish every chance i get to play their songs. I never really listened to albums until PC&L, and it was amazing.

I've got a sad feeling that NO may never reform again. There's no Tony Wilson nor Rob Gretton to force the children to shake hands and make up. The kids will have to realize on their own that they need each other.. but I'm afraid they've decided to tell each other to sod off instead.

I'm just glad I caught them live twice since 2001, albeit sans Gillian as I was a little late to start tuning into them in 1994.

But if they do reform.. I'd advise them against trying to make any poptastic hits as Jetstream. I've always liked their songs when they weren't so obviously trying to Kraft a hit.

I agree that BLT in thier 60's would be a bit silly... imagine a Barney that needs reading glasses to see the prompter... but I would like to see them live just once... somehow whenever I have freetime, NO sod off... when ever I'm busy as hell, they makeup and tour.... :banghead:

OK, I haven't been on these boards for a while, and last time I was, there seemed to be some question as to whether or not NO were officialy broken up or not. So, has something been announced recently (in the past year perhaps) to make this official?

I gave my dad a best of NO CD I made yesterday to see if he'd like anything on it, and he asked me if they were still together, and I stammered and stuttered, and said I don't think so, but I'm not sure... :uhoh:

Then, there's these remasters, which might have something incl. that's as yet unheard in the general public. Haçienda '83 or '85 shows looked a great time, great versions. Although there is already 'Pumped full of Drugs released.
