..thought it was funny after Vanishing Point skipped - Maconie rather unconvincingly said that "of course the copies you buy in the shops will be pristine" (not sure about that Stuart!).
Also earlier Hooky said that the reason he wanted to do the remasters was that when he played the old CDs whilst DJing they weren't loud enough (so now we know).

So it wasn't Steven Hague's fault after all. And Republic is a great album.

I told them to get their act together and reform. Also to play Ceremony.
They played Ceremony at least

I thought it sounded really good. Pains me a little to admit it.
I thought it was fairly ordinary, to be honest.
Like a slowed-down Ceremony riff, then a load of noise.
This is a band I really want to like, as well.
I guess we'll just have to wait to see the finished waveforms.

we'll if you like technique, it's fine, all the tracks are clear, and well done.... so theres no problem with those..
now the bonus discs are obviously another story altogether..

Whilst the original tapes were used to remaster the albums, Hooky suggested that it wasn't possible to locate all the master tapes for the bonus discs.
Yes Hooky confirmed last night (what I had suspected all along) that with the bankcruptcy of Factory a lot of the masters have now gone missing. Hooky said that his 'expert' pal Claude Flowers had given him a list of the missing masters.
To me this is really sad how can the masters for a major band like New Order just go missing?
The singer was from a band from round these here parts called Haven.
It's always odd when bands don't appreciate their own material and you got that impression with all three interviews. But then I suppose Michelangelo was too busy getting the detail on that hand right to see the whole ceiling.
The fights over including Hooky's bass were difficult for us fans to grasp too. It's New Order's signature sound and it has consistently set them apart from other dated 80s synthesiser bands.
I don't know if it's the mastering but the tracks sounded bloody good as well.
