Q-You're in the list twice, for Joy Division's Closer and New Order's Low Life, what made those groups so special?
PETER HOOK:we did stuff to make us happy. We were allowed complete artistic freedom. Blue Monday was 10 minutes long, but we put it out as a single. Love Will Tear Us Apart wasn't on the album Closer. Everyone else was doing what they were told also we had a 50/50 split with Factory so we could live for a year by selling 10,000 albums Siouxsie & The Banshees would have had to sell 100,000
Q- High point of the decade?
PETER HOOK: appearing on Top of The Pops in 1983 (with Blue Monday). Doing that programme was a dream for my generation
