War Child Heroes Album Out Now
Some of the hottest musicians around have got together to record 'Heroes: The Ulitmate Cover Album' to help raise awareness and money for War Child. Xfm is devoting a special day to the project.
Today see's the release of one of the biggest albums of the year, War Child's 'Heroes: The Ultimate Covers Album'.
The concept is simple. Some of the biggest heroes in music (The Ramones, U2, David Bowie) have asked some of today's leading musicians (Franz Ferdinand, Elbow, Hot Chip) to cover a track of their choice. All profits made from the sale of the album will be going to the War Child charity, who help children affected by war.

- Yeah Yeah Yeahs (The Ramones: Sheena Is A Punk Rocker)

Plus Xfm have got some exclusive interviews with the 'Heroes' in celebration and support of the album. Steve Harris will be chatting to Peter Hook and playing the Hot Chip cover of Joy Division’s 'Transmission'. He will also be chatting to Craig Finn of The Hold Steady and playing their version of Springsteen’s 'Atlantic City'.
John Kennedy will also be in conversation with Ben Knowles from War Child who put the compilation album together. John will also have some amazing War Child prizes to win…. A limited edition Paul Smith designer War Child t-shirt (only 250 available through his stores!), plus a signed and numbered piece of artwork from John Squire (expected to catch around £30K at auction!).
