Joy Division and New Order bassist, Peter Hook meets fans at Fopp

WHAT: Signing session

WHERE: Fopp London, Earlham Street, Covent Garden

WHEN: Friday 9th October 2009 at 6.00pm

New Order and Joy Division bassist, Peter Hook, celebrates the release of his new book, ‘The Hacienda - How Not To Run A Club’, with a signing sessions at Fopp’s Earlham Street store in London’s Covent Garden on Friday 9th October 2009.

Peter will be at the store from 6.00pm to meet fans and sign copies of the new book, which is published by Simon & Schuster.

As co-owner of Manchester's Hacienda club, Hook propelled the rise of acid house in the late 1980s, then suffered through its violent fall in the 1990s as gangs, drugs, greed and a hostile police force destroyed everything he and his friends had created. This is his memory of that era and 'it's far sadder, funnier, scarier and stranger' than anyone has imagined.

As an extra special treat, the Fopp event will be followed by an exclusive DJ set from Peter at ‘Fopp Press Play’, the store's weekly event at Wax Jambu in Islington from 8.30pm.
