Fucking fantastic book, took it with me to Por-too-gal and read it in a day or so. Absolutely loved it and the missus kept telling me aff for laughing out loud whilst reading it (on the sunbeds) :D
Some cracking stories, was aware of the drugs and the gangs, but not to the extent mentioned in the book. For the record, I'd be a Salford Red, having shared a few swallies with some of their lads before New Order gigs. Thankfully they took to my humour, though the Viking pins passed out probably helped
Really, really good book and as has been mentioned by several other reviewers on here, completely different to all the old stories that everyone is aware of. Didnae know Hooky was so hands on in the later years, the story of him "bouncing" is a classic.
Looking forward to the mooted Joy Division book, if it's anywhere near as good as the Hac book I'll be delighted. Top marks from me 
finally got round to obtaining a copy together with the Tony Wilson book. Both half price off Amazon. 100 pages or so into the Wilson one. Good so far. Just looking at the pics in Hooky's book that one with him and Steve leaning against the pillar on the Hac dancefloor Hooky thinks is from around 1985 was in an NME interview with the two of them in July or August 1990. But anyway, not important.Looking forward to reading it
