Bit odd but it looks like Bernard is starting a club night in our village. So might see him somewhere else rather than the supermarket!

"a funk, soul, jazz and R ‘n B night."
That sounds a bit shit, dunnit?
Anyway, Alan Wise is involved - it'll never last!
That Sarah Sumner's a bit dinky, isn't she?

Well, LCD Soundsystem have made it to Europe (Spain - on Tuesday), so they've got a fairly good chance of making London, and a more than better chance of making Manc! ![]()

1st of May
Hooky - The Lowry Salford Barney - Getting his wife working the door at the local village hall while Hewan Clarke (???) plays records!
I'm so tempted but I've already got my ticket for Hooky![]()

Could be shite but it's a five min walk from my house so I will check it out and report back here. It's also five mins from Hookys :-)

From my (limited) knowledge of the location of Barney and Hooky, I thik they're about 10 mins max from each other by car, wonder if they use the same shops? that would be funny, seeing them avoiding each other down the biscuit isle!

They'll always have a love for Strawberry shortcake though. New Order Play At Home proves this, perhaps it'll unite them again?
My concern is, should the gods of airfare and/or rock n' roll that control the volcanoes allow us to come over this summer, will we be sophisticated enough to attend? Me thinks not. But, on a positive note, the idea of an Earth, Wind, and Fire night are sure to pique hubby's interest.
And, internet comments on Sarah's size--

Her hair looks fantastic.

Oh I dunno, I like a bit of funk and soul myself
The night is 'aimed at a sophisticated and affluent crowd'. Oh, fuck off! Will you need to show your bank statement at the door? Opening night featuring The feckin' Christians??? They're about as soulful or funky as a wet fart. Whoever's behind this doesn't have a clue. And I suspect it's actually got very little to do with BS.
That's Bernards wife in the picture so he must know something about it?

You are right, they live at either end of the village and they do shop at the same place as there is nowhre else. Never seen them at the same time though?

Jesus Christ, just when you think it couldnt get any worse, are they having a competition to see who can start the shittest project, what next Steve and Gillian write a musical based on the life of Ian Curtis.
Either way, I'm not letting Norbert take the crown of being first chucked out of this place.

My money's on you!
But do you think they'll have a velvet rope for all us nobodies to line up behind?? That would be quite sophisticated.
I think I'll go down, have a packet of crisps, suck my fingers afterward and fuck off to salford!

Thumbs up for the musical - I'm particularly looking forward to the "Search For Ian" programme on BBC Saturday nights where Graham Norton and Andrew Lloyd Webber audition wannabe Ian Curtis lookalikes.
Drove past on the first night (Christians Night) as I was late back from somewhere, looked to be a healthy number of young people walking in a 9ish.
Not heard anything since then - no adverts either, will tke a look on Sat night.
