i just read an article (in Focusknack, probably known to the other Belgians around here) about the Red Hot Chili Peppers and their new album (By The Way). They discuss each track, how they made it etc.
And about 'Universally Speaking' (track no.2) John Frusciante says this: 'the guitar solo in the ending is influenced by the work of Peter Hook, it's a sort of small personal tribute to him'. :D (ok, Focusknack wrote the name as "Peter Hooks", 
but i got the message ;) )
Of course the next thing i did was listening to the ending of that song and indeed that sounded familiar :D
For the ones interested: the Hook-guitar part is situated from 3:40 till 4:10 .
