If you were going on a long bus or train journey and could only take one album with you, what would it be?
It’s a tricky one but lately, ever since I saw the Ian Dury film (Sex & Drugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll) I’ve really wanted to find the time to listen to New Boots and Panties!! properly and I’ve never had the chance. It’s one of my favourite records. The thing that people miss out on these days with iTunes is that they don’t buy albums, but when you get an album like New Boots and Panties!! and you see the way the songs go together and the message is done, that to me is what music is all about.
What about a book?
I’m reading the new John Irving book at the moment, which is called Twisted River. It’s absolutely fantastic.
