By my reckoning, Brussels and Paris will take me up to 30.
Disappointed that I never made a bigger effort in my younger days though. 
Anyway, just out of curiosity, what's everyone else managed?

About 22 / 23 times. Would have been loads more if they had been together in the 1990's when I was really into my gigs. Also seen Monaco, Electronic, Revenge and Bad Lieutenant. Sadly never saw the genius of Freebass :)
I think its 24, but i lost count over a decade ago. Seen all of the other lot too, including Freebass.

Baldy got done for agressive dancing and I got done for abusive language in Liverpool, Slipper got done for abusive smoking of spliffs in a tent. It's good to know that the polis everywhere are cants.
I reckon I'd easily have done a hundred gigs if I was as old as some of you buggers and if they hadnae taken more time off than they've toured since 89.
In 2006, we were in a pub in Bournemouth before the gig. I was with Big Clive/Alex and John. I asked them how many gigs they'd done. About an hour later they had a written list of about 120!
They remembered the order too, ie. "Hang on, no we were in Wolverhampton the day before that."
Myself, I've only seen them about 13 times. Before the internet I never knew when they were touring. One of my regrets in life.

The one I wish I had gone to was Wembley Arena 1987. Paying for the trip down to London at the age of 16 did not appeal.
Met one lad in Blackpool before the gig who said he was nearing 150. There's a lot of old skool Vikings who have never posted here, which is a shame, cos I'm sure they'd have some cracking stories

Without working it out I think it's 86. Summat like that. Give or take a couple. That's the number in my head.
I've just sat and tried to work out how many countries I've seen them in though, and that's coming to 15.
Travelling to see them abroad was a must after Johan Scott's fabulous piece in Paradise about some US gigs in 1989. He made the whole thing sound so fcuking exciting!
The likes of John, Oxford Steve and Mawhinney are all the early 100's though - I think the latter two were even doing daft tours like US '85, amazing given New Order were doing plenty of gigs here back then and travel arrangements weren't easy like they are now. Molly's probably broken the 100 barrier too; I was at Bury vs Luton with him two years back and we met John for a drink after; they both recognised each other from some California gigs in '89.
How many gigs did Electronic ever do? I know I missed their only ever London gig but saw them in Glasgow the same week and had to catch the overnight train back to London straight after.
I was at the Revenge gig in Cambridge when Hooky rapped someone over the head with his knuckle when his pint got knocked over. 15 years later I found out that person was Molly! Actually, I saw Revenge in some right tiny places including the Powerhaus on a Tuesday night, a Student Union bar round the corner from my current office in the City where there was literally just me and one mate paying any attention, and another gig at the old Wag club where there was probably just 20 people in attendance (Northside had supported to just one man on the dancefloor)
I've been to half-a-dozen Bad Lieutenant gigs. Made the mistake of signing up for Paris, Brighton, London and Manchester having only heard Sink or Swim. When I heard the rest of their album I realised I didn't actually like them! Still decided to book up for Hamburg after Paris though cos we'd had such a larf in France. That Hamburg weekender was proper messy.
I've seen Freebass once, and also saw Hooky with Hybrid a few times - including a support slot for someone else in Shepherd's Bush when me and JG were up in the Gods and could see Hooky doing stretching and limbering-up exercises in the wings as he waited to come on.
The trouble with this thread, is that we're all going to feel a little bit jealous of those who've been to a lot more (El Jarvo at 86!) Like John S, I wished I'd more or an effort when I was younger.

There's surely a gig we most regret missing thread here. Mine would be Portsmouth Guildhall in 1984 - I had a ticket but was ill - and they played a stormer.
I also had to give away my Glasgow ticket in 2006. I gave it to Monty at the Blackpoll Empress Ballroom gig (I'm a long time lurker on this site, so I recognised him)- so I hope someone on here got it.

I missed a gig because of a miscommunication between my ex-wife and her mates who she was gonna stop with in Melbourne, whilst I went to Adelaide with JG and Gordie. Turns out her mates had decided to fcuk off to Tasmania on that date instead.
I ended up stopping longer in Melbourne and we went to Penguin Island whilst New Order played Adelaide.
The penguins were fcuking ace though, glad I went. 
Regret missing?
Reading 89 - but to be fair, I was only 14 and had no money.
Whilst old enough, the only gig I'm gutted I couldnae get to was the Apollo 98 as I was on a l;ast warning at work for sickies and couldnae get out of ma 2-10 shift 
Before my gigging years, I would probably have chosen Kilkenny 83 or Finsbury 87 or......

I had tickets for both Reading '98 and Wembley Arena '06 but both fell through due to transport arrangements (being a broke student and all that). Was gutted about Reading as I've never seen Gillian-era NO, the gig was obviously blinding from the Radio 1 broadcast and Monaco played earlier in the day. Wasn't so fussed missing Wembley as the venue's soulless and the band were nearing the end anyway.
I almost made Fuji Rock in '01 but would have had to extend my trip by a few days which would have cost the earth. My brother went instead as he was living there at the time.

I was in Arizona in '97 when Monaco played the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Considered making the journey to the next state to see them but it didn't happen. Shame as I have an audience recording of this somewhere and it sounds fucking great. It was my birthday on the day of the gig as well.

Funny, Arthur Baker was at The Scala aftershow as well and I remember thinking he was fucking huge (as in tall). Towered over me anyways.

Next gig in the British Isles I missed was the 1998 Apollo comeback, between those dates I did 10 gigs. So please, lets not hear the whine from over the Atlantic about them not touring the States, they did 61 over there in the same period.

Low blood pressure + standing for a long time + Alcohol - Food = Stretcher
A tried and tested formula.
First time I ended up on a stretcher was at a festival in Belgium.. I awoke thinking I was paralyzed as I couldn't move.. I now know that they strap you down so you cannot get away... Once the first aiders have you in their grasp they don't like to let you go... Had to convince one lot my 80/50 blood pressure was my norm as they wanted to take me to hospital..

Gutted I never went to the 1998 gigs when they got back together, was just so crap at sorting things out then, still going to clubs alot in those days, gigs were not high priortiy. In fact it was their 2001 gig that got me back going to gigs again.
Its a shame they split up in the 1990's, hardly played any UK dates for the Republic tour, don;t really like the Reading festival.
Not going to Brussles or Paris but hopefully they will do some UK dates.
Mine is 55, and Nick, thats where my money went too!!! Even got most of the ticket stubs or some poster for "proof"!!! The Hemel Hempstead gig in 1985 was a poor ticket mind!!!Strange times the 80's.
Recent gigs have melowed a bit, I was always one to watch and listen rather than get "messy". Funnt though, I recall people who I did not know at the time at gigs years )decades even) later. Most notably is Alex and if I knew at the time he was such a huge Chameleons fan I would have seen him more, such an undrated band.......but thats a different story.
Love Mr Al's penguin island story - probably because I live and work in Sydney now and got more chance to visit penguin island than seeing New Order live!!!

Just counted up and it's around 25 times,the first 82 The Venue Blackpool. Last 2001 Liverpool Olympia. The dates tell their own story, lost interest in the "Phil Era", a lot.
Live from 83 to 86/7 is still fresh in my mind Donny, Leeds, Brum rowing club etc(the Tower). Two great nights at the State. Preston and Blackburn. You never knew, how it would go, even if the previous night was amazing. I'm sure they didn't either....
Seriously considered flying back for Brussels and Paris, bit much to bite off at the moment.

Bought tickets to the Republic tour in Los Angeles... but my GF at the time dumped me and took a friend
Bought tickets to the Get Ready tour (I think it they were going to be in Atlanta?)... got called away on some damn training exercise in the Marine Corps
For the WFTSC tour they were nice enough to show up in San Diego, THREE days after I left for Iraq.
Bought Bad Lieutenant tickets in San Fran, but a nice volcano stopped that and they never rescheduled.
Actually SAW the Light last year AND this year in Hollywood

Mine's back to 86. I've got 19 gigs listed for 2005 in my workbook in front of me here in the office but I've checked and it was just the 18. I think you must've done the 19 cos you did that Swedey gig as well (gig too far for me, given that it was a Thursday night and in the middle of nowhere).

Brixton Academy (Dec 83) – 16 years old, only been to 2 gigs before, and here I was at my first NO gig (and a post-PCL London showcase to boot). Five of us squashed into my brother’s girlfriend’s Fiat 500 (immediately christened the Fiat Fartbox). The gig has gone down in history as “a crap one” but for me how could it be, it was the 1st time I’d seen my favourite band. And they pushed the roadie on stage to sing the encore (encore!) of the infamous Blue Monday/Love Reaction.
Bradford Caesars (Mar 84) – went from Norfolk to Bradford on a National Express coach which took 5 days. The gig was only doable because I had an Aunt who lived within walking distance of Caesars. For those who weren’t there, it was an absolute belter. I’m getting goose pimples just thinking about it. What can I say; the EGG/Temptation/586 medley, Face Up, 2 encores.
And I did the 84 Summer UK tour hitching round the country and sleeping rough, but that’s another story for another day.
Wolverhampton was number 33 (glad we’ve established we’re counting Big World Café). Let’s not forget the people; most gigs were attended by a combination of Neil, Tranny and brother Andrew, cheers boys, happy memories!

Sadly only once - Fuji Rock 2001 - and it wasn't even proper New Order, Corgan was there noodling on his guitar and wearing an annoying beanie. saw them primarily around the North West since I was at 6th Form in Eccles. Then around London and the south when I went to university and the midlands sometimes. Then recent times where I could, Blackpool, Liverpool, T in the Park.
Notables were probably earlier gigs, Tower Ballroom, Heaven at Charing Cross (hooky putting a pair of knickers on barney's guitar), Hacienda, benefit gigs for earthquake victims at London Poly, Aids, the miners at the Festival Hall. DIG DEEP. Festival of the 10th Summer. I forgot about that Scala gig. I do remember Keith Allen being in the audience and seemed to be absolutely tiny.

In hindsight I'm amazed many people made it to that gig. It was Arcade Fire the night before and I remember meeting up with a load of people afterwards and everyone was twatted. I was fine if I recall. Shit gig though.

Music for Miners - in Royal Festival Hall supported by Keith Allen doing his northern industrial gay character and elderly stewards - average age about 70 - trying and failing to stop everyone legging it down the front
Polytechnic of Central London - in the canteen I think - they played atmosphere and my very short girl friend of the time couldn't see so the sound crew let her stand on the mixing desk table so she could
Tower Ballroom in Brum possibly twice - I remember plastic palm trees and a boating lake and great performances
Peace Together gig in Dublin after one of their very long breaks apart - eventually a great gig although think first song started and then stopped - Regret?

Favourites were all 3 Reading Festivals,Manchester Apollo (second coming gig with Doves supporting!! bought 2 tix out of the back of the private ads in NME and praying it was not a con and the tickets were genuine) Also went to New York show at Hammerstein Ballroom and enjoyed hooky's aftershow dj set at a very trendy oriental themed hotel where i chatted to Interpol.
Also saw Electronic at wembley exhibition hall and Monaco support the charlatans.
