Possibly..i just got that from their website.

The website font looks kinda techno-y circa the early 90s. Hope any future t-shirts look, um, a little more classic in design.

I relly hope I can get a ticket for this.It states it only holds 2661 on the site venue capacities. I did think they would be a able to play at a bigger venue though.

Damn, can't make this - going to the "Canterbury Rocks" show that day. Hope they tour in 2012.

You either get a Mod to fix it (do any of them even visit here these days?) or Mrs Milky can edit her own post.

for anyone heading out east, from the tfl website:

DOCKLANDS LIGHT RAILWAY: On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December. the Docklands Light Railway is suspended throughout. Replacement buses operate. Reported: 21/10/11 16:20 Last Updated: 25/10/11 15:05

how much are tickets going to be ? seems like a classy venue , 10 euros a pint?

Ha ha ha. They've organised a gig in the arse-end of London and there's not even public transport on that weekend.

Seems like a classy venue? Go look up Commerical Road on googlemaps and report back to me.

To be fair he did say the venue looks classy, not the area. It does look a good, interesting venue even if Commercial Road isn't, from memory i've not been that way so don't know.

I had a dream one night quite sometime back about being at a New Order gig in an old renevated cinema i didn't recognise that bears a striking resemblance to the Troxy in the promo vid on their site:eek:

Which Shoreditch gig, Stevie? The one at Cargo?

It's in the East End, not far from the City. If you can fly into City airport you're onto a winner (although there's no facking DLR that weekend, so not ideal for travelling!)

In fairness, it isn't the best area in the world but I'm guessing you might get a decent deal on a Docklands / Canary Wharf hotel given that they'll be empty on a Saturday night (presumably).

Nice one for the info Al. I will get gaz onto the digs situation.

Are you staying over night in MCR on the 11th for the mighty Ratio?

What a treat. It's 5 min from where I live. For people who don't know, the nearest stations are Shadwell and Limehouse, both DLR. The venue itself is nice, probably the only nice thing in the neighbourhood lol. Nick Cave and PJ Harvey performed there so not too bad, I hope, for NO fans :)

I saw P J Harvey at the Troxy earlier this year and it was a bit hard to see from where we were standing. No problem for the folk up front. The beer situation was fairly dire and expensive. Didn't try the toilets.

It's a pain the DLR is not running as the venue is not far from Limehouse station - alternatives might include a train from Fenchurch St one stop or bus from Bank. Not really that far East.

As your correspondents have noted, plenty of dodgy pubs around there, although truth be told it is somewhat nicer than it was even 10 years ago.

Hopefully I'll manage a ticket this Friday... this will be my sixth gig.

Train from Fenchurch St is a good call, and there's a DLR replacement bus service from Bank anyway.

Just a shame the City is dead at the weekends so there's not much point in people congregating at either Bank or Fenchurch St to have an ale first.

In fact, I don't know if many places would even be open?

Come on lads (and lass) get a presale link on here for the true fans! getting tickets now is a fookin stressfull nighmare. They could easily put say 200 by and a max of 2 per person. I reckon there are around 100 regular stalkers on here so would not be too diffcult to organise

Yes but he was referring to Michael Jackson's alleged kiddy fiddling. Lyrics to True Faith, 'when I was a very small boy, Michael Jackson played with me'. Or was it the split? No cos they split.

Seeing as they did indeed split for 5 years. Only Bernard knows for sure. (He's no doubt forgotten). The crowd took it as the rumoured split was a load of tosh but on closer inspection having said it directly after True Faith and the infamous lyrics I reckon he was referring to that. Seeing as it was a major news story at the time

JP. Loves a good after-party. Think it's his round too. :)

Did you go to the after-party then? I wondered if anyone went.

Was Jiphy the bloke who'd come straight from work?

Suit and tie?

EDIT: actually, apologies if he wasn't in work clothes and that's his standard gig apparel!

I spoke to Johnny Giles last night though and he'd priced it all up! Not sure he'll be making it either though, alas.

Till next time.

looked at reviews on fancyapint.com, the only one in the area that gets rated above average I think!

It does look rather poncy, mind. :ladysman:

I think, El Jarvo hasn't realised yet, you're always only looking for the most expensive burger in town. :D

Jert's last recommendation was Cafe Westend in Munich and he paid 19,90 € for a burger there. :D

ok thanks for everyones patience...the 3 spare tickets have been taken and i hope they all have a great night

...im travelling down from brum and im really looking forward to it now (even tho i said i would not go if hooky wasnt playing) ....i had 2 computers, 1 linked to the troxy and the other to ticketline...ticketline didnt work at all and the troxy site kept crashing but at least it was connecting...i finally got 4 tickets after a 2 minute flurry.....im making sure from now on that i get the tickets from the venue itself online as it seemed quicker and more reliable...sorry to those who i could not help this time...i wish more people on the site did this

Respect to you for that I say.

I was lucky enough to get three sitting tickets a min or so after 9:00am but no chance of standing. I am surprised they said it took 15 mins to sell out.... I would have thought more like 2 or 3!!

I reckon it sold out in about two minutes - seemed to on the four web sites and two phone lines I was on and no I didn't get any hence as I've posted on the other threads on this - various bastards have got tickets on sale via VIAGOGO, and according to them they have got around 170, yes 170 standing tickets on sale from £67.50 to £134.99 each plus extortionate booking fees and it's all legitimate reselling - it does mean we can get a ticket but..... :banghead: :banghead:
