Oh man...looks like I picked a fine time to move OS :(

Hmm - surely they'll do another non-festival gig in Melb..? I'll go if there's no other option, but I'm not convinced I'm up for Sven Vath and Aphex Twin. Naked & Famous are sound though.

Presumably doing all five Future Music Festival dates then?

Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth?

Sydney, PLEASE!

Lol imagine that, NO in March then Hooky on his lonesome here in April for Closer.

So they are going out before the Light?

Time for a 'matinee' set as Joy Division, with free meet and greet. :brow:

Now, now - no need to steal Re: Order's ideas... That is what's happening next weekend, isn't it? I've always wanted to meet Will...

I did the FMF last year with some trepidation, mainly to check Leftfield and The Chems. The usual end-of-summer throng of dance yoof who were probably Wiggling it when Leftism dropped. Not a lot of respect there and for them - it all just seemed like filler until Pendulum dropped. And it felt like a farewell festival outing for me.

So, not an ideal choice of festival or tour but at least they're coming. It's a safe bet they'll do all the FMF dates or at the very least the east coast. Look for confirmation on official sites tomorrow morning.

Last year headline acts like Leftfield and Ronson did sideshows so let's hope there's something on the table for NO. Sydney and Melbourne shows are the best bets.

Sadly it's the least buzzed I've been about an upcoming tour, given the bust-up and gradual decline of the band. But you know I'll be there so buckle up Melbourne Order! The Pernods are on CTB.

:\pimp3:

Red Bull and Pernod for that lot surely? Or just bottled water at a tenner a bottle.:spit: And no, they aren't on me - I'll be skint on account of the prices of gen admission.

Not to mention we'll need to book a sitter - possibly the least Rock sentence ever.

Blag us a ticket, Depthy?

Don't dis the Sven, he's a techno viking! Plus with Friendy Fires and melodic dubstepper Flux Pavillion added to the list you could do worse!

Yeeeha!

Aphex Twin on the bill as well...

I take it there will be a viking invasion ?

Great news they're coming over; really hoping for sideshows Syd/Melb... maybe the Grand Prix organizers will book them for the weekend of the 18th March too.

They are crap DJ's, much like David Guetta. They recently sold out Madison Square Garden here in NYC. Why anyone would pay so much money to watch people play prerecorded tracks off of a Macbook is beyond me.

Seem to have lost my previous profile, so it's back to square one.

Bit conflicted this morning, absolutely stoked that NO are coming back, saw them last time at the BDO and the old Metro (now the Palace Theatre) in Melb, but the line-up of the FMF does not fill me with joy. Holy Ghost! and The Juan Maclean hold some attraction, but Fatboy Slim, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J and Die Antwoord???

I happened to drive past the showgrounds on Saturday and saw the crowd for Stereosonic - a bigger group of tools you have not seen together in your life. I will obviously need to get skintight jeans, black slip-on shoes (a la Karate Kid), oversized singlet cut out at the side to show off my huge muscles, novelty tatts, cap at a jaunty angle and big white sunnies.

Any chance of a hop across the ditch to NZ? Maybe a reprise of Wellington Town Hall????????

That's really shit scheduling then, on behalf of the organisers.

One coast to the other in <24hrs.

I wonder what sort of mess some of the acts will be in when they hit Perth!

Or the fans. :\ohwell:

I couldn't do a festival 'properly' and then jump on a 5hr long-haul flight to the next festival!

Doesn't that GP gig normally pull the cream of bogan rock? Kiss, Powderfinger, The Living End, and next up your sheilas remember them from the blue light discos, it's umm.. New Order...

The way the FMF dates drop there's definitely room for a Sydney sideshow if they're up for it. But will they? Melbs would require doubling back from Sydney or Radelaide.

Worse still, last year Leftfield didn't announce their sideshows until February and you ran the risk of missing FMF tickets.

2012 GP main stage acts announced; Kravitz, Cranberries and Living End I think.

There's also a 'club' set up somewhere on the circuit called Sidetracked. Future Music were the promoters in 2011...

Other thing crossed my mind re: Melb sideshow - won't they have to fly internally after Adelaide to pick up international connecting flight back overseas? Could mean a sideshow post long-weekend if they were up for it before departing Melbourne maybe?

Know what you mean about this yr w/ Leftfield. We held out & were rewarded... but to miss the Order is not an option. Really not too keen on FMF myself, nor's the missus. Getting on a bit!

It sounds like priority boarding on an aircraft - he'll probably get into the festival quicker via a special, smaller queue away from the smelly hoi polloi. Doubt it's meet and greet like The Light option.

For a youngster, he's got a lot of disposable income has Ryan.

Someone in my office has just bought VIP tickets for next year's Isle of Wight festival just to see Bruce Springsteen. Set her back a cool one thousand pounds each! Ouch. Apparently they've got different levels of VIP ticket there too, starting at 500 notes. Dunno what she gets for hers. For that money, I'd want to choose the setlist / be given their rider.

Hey if the breakfast comes with strawberry topped french toast and a cold glass of choclate milk I would be VERY happy.

CHOCLATE MILK is my favorite drink in the world, I would pick that over any crappy beer in the world or any liquor even if served in a GOLDEN cup.

I'd have thought Mark's a good bet for this as he seems to be out your way every second year.

I've already raised the possibility of going at home, and was told No!

I'd be interested to see if they announce their 'own' gigs though and make this more economically viable.

Nobby's already sent around a spreadsheet with prices and flight times on!

I think, they will do in Australia exclusively the festivals. Maybe they will do one or two gigs in New Zealand during the week between the festival-weekends.

Wouldn't they be better off going to New Zealand before Brisbane / after Adelaide, rather than just rushing around like that. The schedule looks painful enough as it is.

Be nice if they could do a UK tour like this - gigs at weekends only. Would make getting time off work a lot easier!

Dont see myself doing these I'm afraid CTB. Much as I'd like to. The 2002 was ace but we were getting about 3 A$ to the £ then.

Was out in Oz this time last year and the exchange rate has killed us. Think I'll save my resources for tours closer to home. Am writing this from my bed in Santiago, at the back end of a 10 day splash, so finance conscious right now!

Was hoping this thread would have flushed out Chris Z, possibly my fave NOOL poster of all. Where are u mate?

I just had to look him up. Last logon was Feb 2002, right after the last Oz gigs.

Maybe he defected to the Third Battalion? :\ohwell:
