Never been closer to heaven. Never been further away.
(actually, that song would have been perfect for those victims at the World Trade Center).
By the way Seb, thanks again for reminding me of that song, I had forgotten how good it is :)
Great tune!

Seriously doubt that :p
What?
Weren't you in my dream last night?
*HEAVY GRIN*
Woops, that's right, we have the best smilie collection on the web here, so let's use it...
![]()
I very much doubt that Sebsy my old trout. Having just mastered the art of the smilie,
I was very much disappointed at the lack of (what is for me) obvious omissions.
Where are the: Crisps? Badgers? Eggs? An icon of Geoff Klumpy for good measure? An unseasoned potato (i.e. just a simple potato from the earth)? A picture of a soul? An image of god (not of this earth)? A shape which cannot be visually described?
Come on webmasters of the universe... pull your various tentacles and/or fingers out... Or are we too busy chatting up beautiful ladies?
Sebsy, one other thing, did you keep that porno picture anywhere? - and, while I'm at it... not one offer of a coffee yet? - just where does one acquire refreshments from this place?
Huntsy, does being "within the Pizza Hut salad bar" mean you're up there mixed in with the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, croutons, olives, etc.? Or perhaps in the darkened cabinet underneath? And I don't believe you ever answered my question about the meaning of Nick Nightingale being among us here.
Patrick I visit places in my mind... today I'm in a wonderful place - come join me. I'm currently in the bit of the bar where the 'crunchy' bits hang out prior to being dolloped in thousand island dressing. Come join me, it's beautiful.
I've just seen your Nick Nightingale post (been away last night) - mmmm.... I can't say I remember this association, truth be told I fell asleep towards the end of Eyes Wide Shut and only my bird kept awake during the final moments... and she couldn't explain the events in a language I could understand, so I drew my own conclusion to the story and what it actually could have meant to anyone. Definately don't remember this guy in the flick, but then again, my memory is rubbish.
Do you know what Pat, I think I can contact you with my mind. Would you like to try something strange?
Well, Huntsy, I just typed a long message where I described Nick Nightingale's very prominent role in EWS but I accidentally erased it. Can you read my mind about what I said? Or feel free to suggest an alternative experiment.
Don't you just hate it when that happens?!!!... Patrick will I EVER learn more about Eyes Wide Shut - it's as if I'm fated... is Kubo talking to me from beyond the gravy?
Patrick, in order to progress the experiment you must quantify my earlier suggestion of your age (33 years give or take the odd year).
... will understand your hesitance at displaying personals. if in doubt, keep it inside... no offence.
... do you know the really spooky thing is about what you've just said Pat. In my life, the no. 12 occurs in an inordinate amount of places... too many, in fact, to be just coincidence. (my girlfriend and father would back me up on this, but they aren't here).
You have said so little Patrick... you have said so much.
... you have taken the first step, albeit unwittingly. When I think Pat - you've done it in a really hyper-intelligent way. Hiding yourself, whilst revealing only the details in prevalence.
Huntsy, you give me more credit than I deserve. If I have revealed myself, it has truly been unwitting and hyper-stupid rather than hyper-intelligent. But if I have, so be it. May the Force be with you. I do like carrots (cooked, not raw). I am really 4.
nick nightingale is the pianoist in eyes wide shut, who gives tom cruise the address of the party. you can imagine my shook sat in the cinema and hearing my own name....antway made the film a little more interesting for me
Nick, I didn't realize that was your real name. I thought you were just using it because of the character in the movie. I can imagine it must have been a shock for you watching the movie, especially because of the character's uncertain fate.
i recently taped the movie for my mum to watch, you know mums like that kind of thing. i did warn her of the later content...she just said she watched 'my' part a few times
Actually, NN does play a very pivotal role in the movie, and he appears repeatedly. As I've said before, the scene where the hotel desk clerk describes his disappearance is one of the most memorable scenes in the movie.
patrick(patty) i have to say i do like the banter you have with huntsy, very amusing. i must look into how to use those smile thingies as well
Patty - you lent me a moment, and I took the world. It is not from what you said, but what you didn't say, that our minds 'linked' for a single second in time. We can't understand brilliance P, it just happens... like the song Turn My Way (and to a lesser extent a pan based pizza at the hut smothered in barbecue sauce please).
Patty, I open my heart to the world in an attempt to engage people in the merits of Kubo the Brick, only to be told he is a boring field mouse. Then, in a weird shift of dimensions, voila! - un-provoked, Kubo is being discussed, by non-only than your good self!!! - marvellous. Perhaps I sank in subliminally... or by the most recent linking of our minds? (remember P, the no. 12 WILL occur in your life in unexpected circumstances within the next few days... trust me).
I feel I must catch the next playing of Eyes Wide Shut on Sky and sit through with some degree of awareness in order to receive the films true meanings.
How could I neglect to notice our very own Nick the boy Nightingale in such a 'pivotal' moment in the film. Very exciting times.
Huntsy, I do tend to watch EWS every time it comes on cable, despite the boringness. It does have its moments. I'll watch out for Number 12.
Nick, I haven't figured out the smilies either. It's almost more than I can manage to figure out how to turn my computer on and off.
I don't want to interrupt your conversation here fellas... but I too was stumped by the smilies. Before you 'Submit Reply' click on the link to smilies. Pick the one you want by scrolling across 'the name' of the smiley fella - cut it... then, paste it into your message.
Look... ![]()
... now if I can do it (and I worked it out on my own)... anyone can.
I chose this for my little 'tag' as the grafitti artists of the 80's used to say after I noticed the man Marco Pleil had pegged the laughing man as his own...

I figured this looked like a nice chap.
I bought some cookies from Safeway to chomp through this afternoon...and they're all burnt. So a big :finger: to them
got it now :D :uhoh
this could be a whole new way of life for me, i've found the light....its taking me :rolling
:karate
....how cool is this one?
This would be my response if someone asked me 'Do you like the Manic Street Preachers?' No words..just ![]()
By the way, Huntsy, I just noticed this morning that you and I have both been promoted, although I still lag behind.
Originally posted by Huntsman This would be my response if someone said 'Hey, Huntsman... do you chase cats?'...
Hunter, do you like Bears?....
WOuld you be more partial if I told you they can eat 40,000 moths in 1 day...![]()
How many badgers do you know that can do that?
Patsy, I noted the transition as I passed the legendary 500 mark with trepidation. I'm not the world's biggest chat room type person (truth be told, this is the one and only place I've ever talked on) - and fear a slight withdrawal in order to keep myself freshly preserved on the horizon.
Very tempting to post here though, great set of people. Sometimes I think to myself... this has to end, and that brings much sadness. Cue smilie - ![]()
Seb... all this talk of bears is a curious encounter. Have you witnessed the most recent happenings in the 'PORN' thread as posted by your namesake?
Ha! no I hadn't. :o
Fcuk,I was just looking for any excuse to try out these smilie things and now I look like an animal botherer.
Bears are still cool though
Huntsy, please don't threaten us with even a slight withdrawal or the rest of us would truly be the ones suffering withdrawal. After all, don't we want to know what the next level will be?
Breaking up is the hardest thing (now who sang that?). You must also understand, P, how much I extract from this heaven, and the minions who inhabit... all of our world's are one.
The next level will come to you Pat, it comes to us all. You might not be aware until after its happened. Rest assured, I will always be there for you.

Huntsy my friend, first of all, you're the graphic designer so we thought you'd be the best man to come up with these particular smilies. MAKE MY DAY!
The porno picture was taken off by Nicolas who, since then, kept it for personal use.
As when it comes to refreshments, I'm sorry, THE BAR IS CLOSED! The Man With The Impossible Name (Geoffrey Klompkes) drank it all.
:\puke:
My Nanna was once chased by a bear in Canada - near Toronto if memory serves me right. Scary, beautiful beasts. Evidently a group of them were feeding them scraps (that's a group of humans feeding bears, not the other way around), anyway, for no apparent reason, the scene turned ugly and a bear vs. human situation ensued. Needless to say Nanna and family escaped after an enthrawlling pursuit and the bears returned to their rightful homes deep within the wooded area.
As far as I know the same bears were capable of complex maths equations... however, this fact has yet to be verified.
Sebsy - it isn't fair to tease me... are you saying I can supply a smilie for the gang to utilise dependant upon their apparent mood?
Geoff, damn him... probably kept the liquids in various containers in his cellar to feed the ghost of Buster Crabtree that he keeps down there.

There is no cooler site in the world of nature than a bear sitting in a stream catching salmon.
they also get to hibernate through winter the lucky bastards

Your words are mighty cryptic, Huntsy boy, but I guess they're meant to comfort, so I'll take them that way and trust all will be well.

Let's say that I'm challenging you officially to come up with an animated smilie gif eating Pringles, and if you do so, we will put that online!!!!!!
I'd love to see that.
