Does anyone really want to hear them doing Atmosphere?

Sorry let me rephrase, does anyone really want to them to make a video for Atmosphere?

No I'd prefer not to hear it -- in 05 at the US Dates I attended - I heard LWTUA, Atmosphere, She's Lost Control and Transmission. I'm good. I'd actually echo sentiments I've read that they play an all NO set with no JD tracks. I guess you won't escape LWTUA but I would gladly have them put the likes of Love Vigilantes, Round & Round, etc. in for the JD tracks.

As for Atmosphere, I was referring to the clip with the druids carrying Ian's big picture.

They could have a '+' and a '-' and use marquee in Word to have a huge scrolling 'A T M O S P H E R E'.

It would look WICKED!

Oh, and as Who's Joe says, throw in a couple of tiny Jawas from Star Wars, playing at being monks. Or something.

Hey, by the way... the songs they did play in Europe, were they more like Substance versions or the original singles?

Ceremony is always pretty straightforward. Temptation now has an intro that reveals its' musical inspiration but otherwise is an excellent hybrid of the muscular substance version and the beautiful arpeggios of the original 12". Blue Monday gets a few more bass riffs. Thieves Like Us was edited down. The Perfect Kiss is a bit shorter but sounds similar. Bizarre Love Triangle is the same hybrid of the 12" and 7" versions that they've played on the last few tours. True Faith incorporates elements of the Perfecto Mix.

Isn't there a guitar solo of sorts instead of the last verse of TPK?

A couple of more Substance tracks I forgot:

Transmission is also pretty similar but a different guy now sings lead. Love Will Tear Us Apart is similar to recent tours with the occasional Tourette's-like "come on" added randomly.

True. The "kiss of death" verse is missing.

You forgot the clapping section.

It has a clapping section now.

(Damn, didn't we used to have a clapping smiley on the old forums?)

And the thumbs up smiley and the shrugging smiley. And a tank one. Dissapointed with the selection of smilies on the new forum.

Age of Consent was a surprise, but Sunrise would be Chappy's true test.

Please --- don't play Sunrise. Without Hooky on the basslines, Sunrise won't be the same.

Maybe not the same, but Tom will nail it.

I can't wait to hear his take on it.

It wouldn't be the same anyway, mate. Hooky is gone - let it go.

Quite. If he's that concerned about it "not being the same" for one solitary song then I'd recommend he not go to the gig full stop really.

Of course it's not the same without Hooky but at the same time that doesn't mean the basslines aren't played extremely well.

Sunrise would be quite the surprise and very welcome, but what spot would it take -- the 1963, Round & Round, mystery spot? It had better not be at the cost of AOC for us Americans....I'd still like Thieves Like Us.

Also, listening to the brilliant remastered live shows from TPIT, I'd love to hear Let's Go as a five piece with the 1994 vocals.

It might not be Sunrise, wait and see.
