More new album news

An interview with Barney in this month's 80s nostalgia magazine suggests the new album isnt quite as imminent as suggested elsewhere. 10 tracks done, which the record company wanted, but barney wants another 4 finished. A couple of guitar tracks, but mainly old school raw electronics. Will be out October or November. Sounding fantastic.

Bugger, i was kind of hoping for a September release and maybe a single released a month or two before. So Bernard wants 14 tracks on the album?

So it's real. I'm a little disappointed after reading the album was already finished, but on the bright side this news means more songs on it so the end result will be better.

Classic Pop Magazine wrote: What inspired the new album? We came back to do a few shows, but they were getting better and better. We were enjoying it as much as the audiences, so an album just seemed like the next logical thing to do.

Are you pleased with the resultsyou’re getting so far? The album sounds brilliant. I’m a very modest man, if it wasn’t I’d say, “it’s ok”. But we’re in the finishing run with about another two and a half tracks to write. We’ve mixed about seven tracks so it will be finished in the spring and out by autumn, maybe September or October.

A concise number of tracks, then? We’ve actually got about 14 or 15 tracks; the label want 10, but I have to finish all of them. I can’t not finish something, it bugs me. If I only do the 10 tracks, I know it will keep bugging me for the next 10 years.

Sonically, there have been many different eras of New Order. How does this one compare? It’s more electronic than the last two. It’s more hard-edged, crude electronics, like old-skool New Order. There are a couple of guitar tracks on there, but it really pokes you in the eye. I think it will surprise people, too.

Who have you worked with? Tom Rowland from The Chemical Brothers is involved on a few tracks but most of it is produced by ourselves and mixed by Craig Silvey. We’ve found it an enjoyable process even though we’ve worked on it over a long period and in different places.

What has inspired your lyrics? I find lyrics tend to either be about love or having a moan. When you’re younger it’s all about retaliation and getting your own back. Now the songs are about having a shit day, like someone reversing into my car or trying to get an erection.

Is writing music a different process for you these days? It always depends on the music. I write about the atmosphere that’s derived from the music. The music has always come first, before the words.

Will you preview the new music live before the album comes out? No, we aren’t touring, because we’ve been playing live for the last three years, so this year is all about recording the album and then taking a break to refresh our batteries. But we might do something in the autumn.

How did you feel about the recent petition to turn the Macclesfield home of Ian Curtis into a museum? I’m torn. Obviously it’s good to honour Ian but another part of me thinks it’s a bit ghoulish. To me, it’s a place of sadness.

What music are you listening to? I’m listening to the new New Order album and I work 12 hours a day on it, start at 12 and finish at 12; at the weekend I lay there with my tongue hanging out. I get up, walk straight into the studio, get pissed around seven o’clock and when I can’t drink anymore I go to bed. Which is about midnight – it’s like the life of a student, but with money.

So this is your booze album? I only drink at work. It’s like the opposite of being a policeman. It doesn’t make me creative, it just makes me forget myself, and that’s the essence of creativity. I drink wine these days, rosé or white. Red makes me feel thirsty and tired, like I’ve got a nine-inch nail in my head.

So can we expect an official New Order brew or a bottle of plonk, like Madness, or Tony Hadley? Funnily enough we’ve been asked. It’s not my thing, but I’m not ruling out my own set of underwear, or fragrance.

It will be New Order’s turn to receive Lifetime Achievement awards soon. Your feelings? I don’t mind. I got asked to give one of those at the NME Awards recently and I thought they said Slade, but it turned out to be Suede. I had to rewrite my speech – I was expecting Noddy Holder. But Suede are a really good band.

Great news and can't wait for it

The fact that Slade have never won an NME award saddens me enormously. The fact that New Order will most likely be ignored by the, admittedly crap, Brit Awards does so equally.

New Order wrote about 14/15 songs. Mute wants 10 tracks on the record. It sounds like - who knows? - b-sides in the singles instead of remixes only. And I like the idea of a concise album.

And the band produced the largest part of that material. It looks positive. Their best LPs were produced by themselves.

Never mind Slade and Suede, I've got jucier stuff than that.

Sir Andrew of Weatherall has done a remix of a new New Order track. He finished it on Friday and I heard it on Saturday. And lo, it was good!

I didn't actually know it was NO at the time, but I liked the track enough to ask about it. Can't tell you the title I'm afraid (I did ask, but no dice). I don't think it was either of the tracks we have previously heard. My thoughts were that it was like a 90's Underworld track, but of course not one that I had ever heard.

I think it will be the first 'single'. I understand the track will be released soon.

• Great. So what's the story with the new album?
• I can honestly say it's nearly finished, which is great 'cos we haven't started it yet. It isn't an LP, it's a EP. The thing is, if you do an LP that's as many as 2 or 3 tracks, whereas if you do an EP it's less, around just 14 tracks, but the record label wants more - between 13 and 12 - so I'm going for 32. I guess it's easier to do 33 good tracks than 4 shit ones.
• Mmmm. What stage of recording are you at?
• I can categorically state that I've completed the final mixing of all 28 tracks - all I have to do now is record them, and then get down to writing them in the first place. It's funny. In the old days I used to write songs and then we'd record them together and finally do a final mix, but I find that kind of boring and old-fashioned these days. I'd much rather mix a song I haven't written - THEN give it to the band to record in the studio - and THEN - AND ONLY THEN - do I feel confident and relaxed enough for the creative process of writing them to kick in.
• Right... Do you have a release date?
• Well it's tricky. Our record label would like a Christmas release, which presumably means between August and June, but I'm more into Spring - y'know, November or January. All I can say is it'll be a vinyl release on 7" CD but on digital format on-line only, so I can do book-signing sessions in Greece.
• Thanks. And the style?
• Well, New Order's always been a hybrid band, which means a combination of disco songs and rock songs, so this shall continue the tradition 'cos all the songs will be disco, apart from the two rock ones, which will be disco too. Steve and Gillian want to do an instrumental too, which is great as long as I can sing on it. The songs sound fantastic and wondrous and stunning and awesome and great, and I am modest.
• Right. Any titles?
• No. The only titles we have so far are 'Wannabe', 'Say You Will Be There', '2 Become 1', 'Spice Up Your Life' and 'Too Much', but these are all Spice Girls songs. And I can sincerely state, this is not the Spice Girls. It's New Order! Gillian was a girl once, but to my knowledge never a Spice Girl! (laughs) I'd just like to point out that I hate Spice Girls songs, they're massively over-rated, except for the actual tracks which they recorded, as I love them and can't believe how under-rated they are. I also like Joy Division.

It's looking promising for the new album I like the fact it is mainly self produced. 14 songs seems quite a lot for new order, hopefully no filler. Would sooner an album had 8 or 9 fantastic songs like PC&L, lowlife or technique rather than 8 or 9 really strong tracks with a few average at best ones tagged on. Be good to have a 12" only as vinyl is back in vogue, with a b side that will not be on the album as they have not done that since HTS. Hopefully a couple of one off gigs sometime later this year

Knowing Mute's recent history, I'd be more inclined to think any extra tracks would be earmarked for a "deluxe" version of the album as opposed to a physical single release.

The Digitalism track was Unlearn This Hatred wasn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong. So it's now a New Order + Tom from Chemical Brothers track. The other tracks they collaborated with Tom Rowlands on are: Singularity and Tutti Frutti ("a slow chic-y disco groove"). Well for what it's worth, I just pulled the trigger on the deluxe edition vinyl box. I hope it's more than just each song having an extra 30 seconds LOL....I think it's kind of promising, maybe the 12 inch versions will be old school new order and echo the days of the near 10 minute versions on the singles.

I wonder if Q magazine got it wrong about three Tom Rowlands produced tracks. According to New Order.com, it's just Unlearn... and Singularity that were produced by Rowlands. No mention of his involvement with Tutti Frutti. Stuart Price is on Superheated though.

I really liked the album title. Sounds as an announcement for us: hey, guys, calm down, we finally complete the record, thanks for the patience and now just enjoy it.

About the artwork: well, I must to see the whole package: the format, the paper type, the printing, typography, etc, to perceive the concept in its entirely. But in a first view, seeing only the graphics for the front cover, it has a resemblance with the previous ones: Lost Sirens, Troxy, Bestival... Nothing really imaginative. But looks beautiful. And the best thing is: no "New Order" or album title written on the front.

The new teaser suggests "Singularity" will be the first single. The excerpts of the track sounds good.

I bought a vinyl to digital converter kit just yesterday funnily enough .Have ordered the deluxe box set so am looking forward to digitalizing the extended tracks.

i remember when the 12x12 vinyl set came out, unless you found some rare promo cd's, most of those tracks never made it onto cd either.

When oh when will this band listen to its fans and let them decide the album titles and cover art? It's really not good enough.

To me you can hear the very obvious Tom Rowlands input in that 30 second snippet of Singularity. But, much like Here To Stay which that snippet has a passing resemblance to i'm not completely swayed on that being a good thing. In the music news bit on the Radcliffe & Maconie show on BBC 6Music on Tuesday they were talking about the announcement of the new album and played the Singularity snippet which Maconie described as "very EDM" which was alarming but i could see his point. I just hope the "heavy electronic sound" on the album doesn't just simply sound , even if it's great, like it could have been made by anyone .

I'm also optimistic, but I don't expect a masterpiece really. What I really expect is a good album because two of the creative forces of the classic lineup, Sumner and Morris, plus Gillian and her ethereal keyboards, are still in the band. They are also New Order and I'm sure they can be more than Bad Lieutenant feat. The Other Two. I was in Santiago when they played "Singularity" for the first time and the song sounded pretty good even in its live debut - and to me still seemed quite New Order. So I'm sure they did a decent record.

You know I think Chemical Brothers are one of the best electronic artists to have have emerged from the house/dance scene of the 90's. Their debut album, Exit Planet Dust is 20 years old this month and still sounds great. 2010's Further was as good as that (and probably more acomplished). I'm looking forward to Born In the Echoes (out July 17th). So quite frankly I would have been happy to have even more Tom Rowlands involvement.

EDM is a term that the Americans have coined and tends to cover cheesy 'celebratory' artists like Avicii, Calvin Harris and Steve Aoiki. It's unfair to lump the Chems in with those guys. Funnily enough the Chems discussed this yesterday in an interview with the Observer.

NO have decided to make a more electronic album this time around. When was the last time the band actually sounded fresh or ahead of the game in that genre? 1987? Maybe '89? By the time of Republic, tracks like World were just about keeping pace with what was going on. I don't blame them for seeking outside help, and I wonder if they could have actually worked with other electronic people in order to keep things fresh. Artists such as Daniel Avery (best electronic/dance album of 2013 IMO) and Ghost Culture, both signed to Erol Alkan's Phantasy label spring to mind as being creative and exciting, without being "EDM".

Anyway the album is done, I guess we're in the waiting & speculation phase at the moment. Fingers crossed.

No don't get me wrong i like the Chemical Brothers a lot though have kind of lost track of them after the We Are The Night album in 2007 but i have all their albums up to and including that one. Not actually heard the more recent albums. I watched the live stream of their gig at Glastonbury last night - wow, they ( or was it just Tom Rowlands on his own last night?) were magnificent, the music and visuals were mind blowing( watch the full set here ) and it looked like the best crowd atmosphere than anything else i watched of the Glastonbury coverage all weekend i reckon. They put and still put on the best show out of all those electronic artists that emerged in the 90s ( though i've never actually never seen them live but have watched a lot of the videos like the Don't Think film) I saw Orbital a fair few times and Underworld once and their live sets though great never matched The Chemical Brothers in my opinion.Oh and there was Leftfield too but have never seen them live or saw a concert film. But anyway my point is i always thought NO's previous collaboration with the Chems, Here To Stay, sounded a bit dated and i hope Singularity won't suffer the same fate.

I'm not into that cheesy 'celebratory' EDM stuff which is why it wasn't good to hear Stuart Maconie describe Singularity as very EDM.

I did read the Observer interview with the Chems in The Observer yesterday, yeah.

Anyway like you say fingers crossed that the album will be good.

Do you think a deluxe edition CD will be ear marked for release next year say? Maybe containing the vinyl remixes from the box set. I've pre ordered the vinyl box set, which comes with the mp3 and HD downloads, but I was just thinking I want this on CD too. It would have been good to have this in the set, but you can't have everything. Although then it would be music complete......

The website said you get a download of music complete, but said nothing about get a download of the extended versions. I surely hope they do. You would think if the band went threw the time and money to make extended versions, they would like to make some money from it. A couple hundred lp's ain't going to cover it. I think we will see it on iTunes or a Japanese cd, on a later date.

Plus if they don't, then they are going to open themselves up to people pirateing the songs. I guarantee we will see it on utube the next day.

If they do offer a download of the extended versions, I will pay for the deluxe lp's. If they don't, the lp's are useless to me and I will find other ways to obtain them.

If anyone can confirm the download of the extended versions, please tell.

I think I didn't explain myself clearly in my post. The mp3 and HD downloads will just be of the standard album I am presuming. I was just wondering whether to hold off for a deluxe version of the CD, as I want to purchase this format too, which may or may not include the vinyl mixes from the box set at a later date. Sometimes deluxe CD versions are brought out not too long after the original one is released, but I suppose I can make that decision nearer the release date when we might be more informed about it.

The confirmation of the box set just states the following:

Item 1 - 1 x Music Complete - Deluxe Vinyl Box Set Item 2 - 1 x Music Complete - HD Audio Download Item 3 - 1 x Music Complete - MP3 Audio Download Item 4 - 1 x Instant Grat - Digital Track

The new teaser is brilliant too! Really getting excited and have to agree with prior posts, I think Mute will get the promotion right. They do a great job with DM and Erasure. Glad I have already ponied up for the deluxe box set....

If I had more holiday left at work I'd try for the Paris show - I liked the Casino de Paris (went there for the Underworld gig in March), I thought it was better than the usual enormo domes or dodgy clubs that British bands play in on continental tours, and as I can't make the Brussels show I guess I'll have to make do with the Brixton show, but I was hoping they'd play somewhere a bit more inspiring, and the Monday night is going to be a pain as well.

It's been an expensive day. Tickets for brixton as part of the package (T-shirt, box set etc). Wolverhampton and Manchester hopefully sorted on friday. Now going to spend the evening trying to convince the adult of the household that I really should go to either Berlin or the French and Belgium shows.

Clearly my plea to Bernard to play at Aylesbury Friars failed. By my reckoning they have never played Buckinghamshire as New Order.

I only buy drm free lossless these days, as high quality as possible. if the record company don't supply it, I don't buy it. annoying yes (especially as FBN are releasing such interesting stuff) but that's the way it is. No room/time for buying CDs and ripping them. Toying with getting rid of all the cds at the moment, none of them have been played or looked at in years

So, better than CD quality. My library is compiled in iTunes though, so by the time I've converted the FLAC files to Apple Lossless I think I'll lose the benefit, as that only allows tracks to be played back at one bitrate setting (I think), 44kHz, 16-bit. So even if the file is higher quality, I guess iTunes will dither it down for playback. Unless anyone has other knowledge/tips?

So paying £65+p&p for digital copies of 11 extended mixes just seems OTT & other than relying on certain friendly websites to furnish me privately, I am out of options.

The weird bit is, I would like to pay good money to the band for the extended mixes alone but can't see this option anywhere.

Same here, I would like to get the CD and if possible the additional mixes on a second cd, maybe that option will be made available later so for now I'm going to hold off on pre-ordering.

I too would like to get the extended mixes without this gimmick thing of having to purchase the vinyl. I haven't purchased any vinyl in at least 23 years - I have Technique on vinyl but not Republic. Life's too short, I don't know where my turntable is or even if I still have it, I've run out of space, and I can't hear the difference anyway. CD or vinyl free download would be just great. I haven't listened even to the clips yet but I'm sure it'll be worth it, whatever the price. I would like to hear the whole album straight off for the first time without recognising any of it from pre issued clips, but don't know if I can hold out that long.

Also got no interest in the vinyl box set (last vinyl N.O.I bought was the 12" with the Sabres remixes of Regret which was 22 years ago) - I'll get the CD and hope the extended mixes show up on line somewhere, I'm presuming iTunes or Beatport will have them at some point.

Are these the standard or longer versions? That's pretty mental. 'Rising from the ashes of the legendary British post-punk unit Joy Division...' That's what I love about the Net. It's full of new info and original turns of phrase. I'm gonna get the bog standard CD. I ain't shelling out for longer versions cos longer isn't necessarily better - I agree with Claude Flowers' comment that the Revenge tracks were better when streamlined. I may be in the minority but I always thought 'Mr Disco' and 'Vanishing Point' suffer from padding too... The 'full' versions will be on Youtube sooner or At A Later Date (see what I did there?) and sixty-five notes? Pop stars earn too much anyway.

Well that's weird. Those timings on the US version of itunes aren't the same as on the UK version. Neither should be the extended versions as those are only on the expensive vinyl at the mo. Most of the US itunes timings are longer, but not quite all of them.

They're still available on the main US HDTracks web site but not the UK one. It seems to be a recent thing with them but if you try to visit their '.com' page with a UK IP address it defaults you to '.co.uk' where the albums are unavailable. Territorial licensing I assume? Would the original Joy Division master tapes have even been recorded at such a high resolution? I did find the whole 192 thing a bit suspect. At the end of the day as I'm finding with all these supposed 'HD' downloads if the mastering's crap then it doesn't matter how impressive the resolution is.

Aah, I see them now (with the help of a proxy).

Archive transfers from the tapes are now usually done at 192/24, though back in 2007 I'm less sure they would have done that, maybe 96/24 at best.

I'm pretty certain it wouldn't come out of the mastering stage at 192/24. So I do suspect the source of these.

Nothing wrong with that. Some of my best friends are American sitcoms. Jizzstream gets regularly saughtered round here but it's not too bad. As Hooky said (so it must be true), it's one of those songs that needed remixing to kick butt, like 'World - Perfecto' or 'Spooky - Stadium', and the Arthur Baker mix is as good as most of Sirens / Lost Sirens (is that a compliment though?). Ana Matronic's pretty fit, but most people are fit next to Stephen Morris. As I said, it's appalling they list La Roux before Iggy Pop. Putting the tart befote the horse.

I doubt it. I'm always surprised how many fascinating but far-fetched scenarios the fans manage to think up when 90% of the time we always get the same stuff. The most bizarre was someone who suggested NO would start doing songs from their offshoot projects live. This is about as likely as Ian Curtis being found alive and well and singing 'Tasty Fish' with them as Hooky guests on drums.

things are pretty same, they still hate each other and I doubt they will ever get back together but lets hope they do, hey you never know miracles do happen and people putting their past behind them happens.

Tower Records (which still exists as some sort of Franchise in Ireland and in Japan) have got a listing for Music Complete: HERE. The album is due for release on the 23rd rather than the 25th of September.

Track 12 is listed as : *曲目未定 (日本盤ボーナス・トラック) Which Google translate tells me means: *Track To Be Determined (Japan edition bonus track)

Will i be able to tell the difference when i play the HD download? Never heard music in HD format before. I'm no that clued up on FLAC/Lossless 96/124 / bitrates or whatever al that jargon is.Although i did learn from the FAQ that i'll need a media player like WinAmp or MediaMonkey to play the HD files.I do actually have WinAmp so i should be able to play the HD format in that right? Ahh got it thanks. I did hear it, and you're quite correct. There are 4 clips. I don't know why NO posted about there being 3? I suppose as this one was relatively short compared to an average of around 30 seconds for the others. Now I've heard it again, knowing that it's the intro to Restless, it's got me quite excited looking forward to hearing something next week.

Proper b-sides are becoming something of a rarity since the demise of 7" and CD singles. They tend to end up being bonus tracks on albums, but we can hope. You know there will be at least one remix anyway - The Andrew Weatherall remix I mentioned back on page 1 of this thread.

My concern is that there is a difference between "will receive" and "will be available". The terminology is somewhat ambiguous. And again release dates are inconclusive. Mute mentioned before that "The digital download will contain the extended mixes that are on the vinyl." I was therefore expecting to receive them on the official album release date. Now they are stating it could in fact be November, although I know they will aim to despatch the box set sooner if available. So will this now be a separate download again and will it be made available free to the people who have ordered the box set or will we be expected to pay for the download also? I wish it was a bit clearer. I'll be quite disappointed if it's the latter.

Bit worried now that the deluxe tracks will be DJ remixes rather than pure extended versions... Hope that's not the case.

Will be interested to see if the album leaks weeks in advance of release. I recall 'acquiring' Waiting For The Sirens Call about 5 weeks ahead of its release. I hope I'm wrong on this but thought it might be worth mentioning. I've noticed that magazines like Q that do big features on bands (the now defunct REM springs to mind) tend to give kinder reviews than they otherwise would. I.e, a big interview with Michael Stipe = an extra star in the review. Even on their crapper later albums. Sounds like NO cooperated with Q on their 21 page special, so I can't help thinking it might have otherwise only been a three star review. But let me emphasise I do hope Im wrong!

As re the reviewing thing i remember when WFTSC came out in 2005 NME found themselves in the quite difficult position of whether to give the album a good review or not when they'd awarded New Order the Godlike Genius Award just a month or so previously.Think the reviewer tiptoed very diplomatically around the fact the album wasn't very good lol

Nowt yet i don't expect there will be for a while if at all.I reckon Mute have got it all nailed shut.Very professional operation going on at the moment. In incredibly sharp contrast to pre the release of Waiting For the Sirens' Call in 2005.I "acquired" that album about 6 weeks before release day.Mute know what they're doing alright.

I'm not saying where, but "Restless" is already available...

Seconded. Also I wonder if Mr Steinomite is reading this? His friend was due to hear the whole album at some point. I wonder if that has happened now. Incidentally the guy from the Quietus who did the track by track review claimed he listened to the album at Mute HQ and didn't have a promo. But I guess he might have said that to stop people potentially nagging him for a listen...

I suspect Luke Turner from The Quietus was telling the truth. Seems like Mute has averted early leaks by really limiting physical promos.

I've only heard the album versions of Plastic, Tutti Frutti, Superheated and Stray Dog so far and that was via a stream.

Plastic: Epic 7min high-NRG Moroder-style synth workout; catchy-yet-caustic lyrics "You're fantastic, You're so special, So iconic"; a little Hooky nostalgia kicks in during the Chapman solo; banging last third that goes a bit "I Feel Love" Patrick Cowley at the breakdown; closest track that springs to mind is the Mac Quayle "GIAUE" mix.

Tutti Frutti: Mid-tempo housey-stomper that bounces between Technique and Republic; booming "Spooky"/"Fine Time"-style deep filtered vocal launches it "Tuuuuutti Fruuuuutti"; those distinctive Republic/Raise the Pressure-era female vocals return to sugarcoat the chorus; back to the naff, contemplative lyrics "Where every scholar, needs a dollar"; La Roux breaks out into a little verse at the end and sounds right at home, clocks in at 6:30 or so.

Superheated: Plays like a Killers' retro pop-rock excursion tricked out by New Order; sort of wistful tone to it with Barney doing the heavy verse work and Brandon joining in for the sing-along chorus "Girl you've got me hanging, Like a bird out on a wire!"; something like an uptempo Turn My Way; overblown orchestrations sweep over towards the end; the whole thing probably sounds like a shambles and yet, somehow they pull it off.

Stray Dog: They've really taken it off the reservation here; Iggy does ambling, gravelly, Cohen-style vocals over moody guitars nicked from the Salvation! soundtrack.

My gut feel is because they've cast such a wide net, most fans will get snagged somewhere. The post-Factory fans will be all over it. Us vintage grumps just have to concede now and give up on PC&L part II. I was intrigued by "Singularity", but disillusioned by "Restless", and now this lot has me buzzed to hear the entirety.

So is Iggys vocal comparable to what he did on this Death In Vegas track?

Tower Records (which still exists as some sort of Franchise in Ireland and in Japan) have got a listing for Music Complete: HERE. The album is due for release on the 23rd rather than the 25th of September.

Track 12 is listed as : *曲目未定 (日本盤ボーナス・トラック) Which Google translate tells me means: *Track To Be Determined (Japan edition bonus track)

Remember this? Now click the Tower Records link above. It now lists the Japanese bonus track as "Restless - Extended Bonus Mix". So the bad news is that it isn't a new track that we can get excited about. The good news is that we don't have to fork out lots of dosh and then wait for the Japanese version to arrive. Those of us who will simply buy the CD (or download, or non-box-set vinyl) can just go and get it on the day of release.

Steve Morris will be a guest on Guy Garvey's show on BBC 6Music tomorrow (Sunday) 5th September at 2pm.Not a big fan of the show but just happened to hear a trailer for it.

With regards to digital downloads, according to Mute, if you have ordered the deluxe box set, you will receive a link via email to download the standard album tracks, as both mp3 and HD audio, on the day of release.

The official store also states "HD and MP3 digital files of the Extended Versions will be available when the box is dispatched." although I was told that the download code will be included in the box itself.

Either way, the downloads of the extended versions will not be available on 25th September it seems.

Hope some people from this forum will submit some good questions for the Q&A.

Does anybody know why they haven't even put the 30 sec clips on amazon or any other MP3 site yet, usually they have it for all the albums, it would be great to at least hear a preview of the songs.

I don't know.Mute being mean i guess.Under two weeks til release now and i stil haven't heard anything other than Restless and the trailer clips.I'm hoping to hold out hearing it til release day actually.Will be good to have first listen when i have the actual cd.I think The Guardian will stream it a week or few days before though.Well, i mean i don't have any inside info that they will but they do with lots and lots of album releases so there's a good chance i'd say.That's if Mute will let them of course.

Yes, I have listened to the album and it is wit a watermarked link that expires after a day.

I cannot believe the lead single is Restless. It's an alright song, but Academic would have announced things more fully.
