Chosen Time for me. Sounds like an early house tune. Senses runds it a close second.

Yeah, I voted for the unoriginal choice, dreams never end, but it's so great! Just exhilarating, the guitar and bass melodies are so gorgeous, even Hooky sounds ok singing. I wish they did a few more like that.

But the best thing about Movement, to me, is Steve's fabulous drumming. What a gifted guy.

I agree, and I think Hooky should jump on vocals for a couple of tracks on the next album, would be quite interesting

The trouble is, I can never remember which track is called what on Movement. I vote for the other good one that isn't dreams never end. Whichever one that is.

Dreams Never End. I wish they'd let Hooky sing some more, at least give him one track on the next album!

Everything's great. But I'd have to say The him. It scared the crap out of me the first time I heard it. I just love it, it's creepy. But I love the drums on Senses too. It's great to see Stephen go at it on that one live video, what's it called? All that movement stuff, ceremony, and the beginning of temptation...

Definately "The Him", because its dark, and reminds me of Joy Division, also my favorite New Order song anyway, off my favorite New order album.

Hard to choose, seeing how Dreams Never End, Chosen Time, and The Him are equally awesome...

I'm going for Chosen Time. The bass in that song is insane. Every band has that one track that will make you play "air guitar", this one makes me play "air bass".

Does anyone actually like anything from this miserable transitional record?. It's a horrible disorganised mishmash positively painful to listen to.

Sounds like you need to hear the Number One Blue Murder version of "Truth" as recorded at the Manchester Roadhouse on 14th July 2002. The violence lost its suppression !

I'd say "Dreams Never End" as well, I like the vocals, and I like the beat. It's the only song on the album that sounds a thing like New Order, and not a bad imitation of Joy Division.

I've got to choose CHOSEN TIME. Its really catchy & Steve's Drumming sounds brill!

Movement is a magnificent album and better than Republic and Get Ready IMHO.

Chosen Time is a very, very underrated song.

I'm surprised "Denial" has gotten so little support. A very moving song I think- "It's another story, some of it is blurred/ I tried to understand him, I tried so hard." Also some urgent rhythm from Morris. The other songs always blended together somehow but this one stuck in my mind.

Senses gets my vote. Among the many reasons is the recording process used. NewOrder, much like the Beatles, has never been afriad to try something new in the studio, and Senses is a prime example of that creativity.

Got to be Truth, one of my all time No faves. The keyboards, guitar and most of all that sinister throbbing drum machine with Barney's vocal just really work well. Chosen time, dreams never end and senses are all high points on what I believe is a very complete album very much of it's time.

This attitude really annoys me. Movement sounds exactly like NO as they were at that time. It wasn't like we listened to it in 1981 and though 'eh, hang on, where's the poppy electronic dance numbers' !!!

You can't judge albums retrospectively based on what they did after. We expected (demanded even) that they sounded like JD as we didn't want that band to die. To that end songs like 'Doubts Even Here' fitted the bill exactly.

So from my perspective, Movement is not the abberation, if anything it's the later stuff that I don't consider to be 'my' NO, it's like they became a different band.

My 2 all-time favourite New Order songs are CHOSEN TIME and PROCESSION - So yes, I voted for Chosen Time here. I think Barney is too critical of this early period of New Order's career, the songs are powerfull and stark with amazing lyrics and a subtle vocal delivery. Some later works don't really compare ("cough" World In Motion).

New Order sounds like Joy Division till today.Cause they were Joy Division and it seems obvious to think that put some pop in the songs but they are still as beautiful as they were in the joy Division´s days.

It's been copied many times since.I love 'Movement' as a whole, even though most of you have slated it, as have New Order themselves - I truly believe it will, in the future, be regarded as a somewhat 'glossed over' classic that should be revisited as an example of interesting producion and songs that actually fit together on an album, if you see what I mean.

Chris, I love you, the words you've spoken are right out of my heart too! And 'Dreams never end' is one of the best openers of an album that I ever heard!

Doubts Even Here got my vote. Wonderful song. Truth is also way up there, along with Chosen Time. Dreams Never End is quite good too, although it's different than most of the songs on the album.
