The Beach Club 30/07/80

Just in case anyone is interested, on New Order's Facebook page a few days ago, they posted an audio clip of the intro to the band's very first gig. This includes the infamous ’Crawling Chaos’ quote (detailed in Mark Johnson's book, I think) and the beginning of the first track:

I’ve never heard this before.

At least we now know that a tape of this gig actually exists.

I wonder if this means that we may get to hear the whole thing at some point. We can but hope.

Nah. If the band wanted this in circulation it would've been in the Movement box.

Well, yes. There was a fair degree of wishful thinking on my part.

You never know though, it may have only just come to light. I can’t imagine them releasing it for sale, but they could stick the audio up on their YouTube page. Stranger things have happened.
