Great news to all Peter Saville fans.....

Just read the latest Aussie Photographic Mag BLACK + WHITE Issue 64 ( with Kate Moss doing a few nudies shots...wow..) there's an article on the sleeve-designer extraordinaire and compulsive procrastinator, Peter Saville... Featured pics of Get Ready, Pulp's & Suede's cover, etc...3 pages of text, chatting about Fantin-Latour/PCL cover and others... But the best news is...there will be a book on this notorious appropriator, to be edited by Emily King called DESIGN BY SAVILLE ( Frieze )......and also there will be an exhibition in London's Design Museum, THE PETER SAVILLE SHOW, opening in May 2003......well, guess where I will be then next year......

has Peter Saville really been that involved in recent NewOrder + etc releases during the last ten years, or has he passed the work of to associates?

anyway, there are no comparisons to what Saville has done with JD/NO... the unmatched class, quality and diversity over the years (i even have always liked Brotherhood)...i actually bought my first Joy Division because the album designs intriged me so much and i was fascinated, i knew nothing about Joy Division at the time, let alone heard their music.

that said, i find the Get Ready covers to be rather boring. the cover of Get Ready reminds me of the scene from Pulp Fiction that Tarantino edited out because he thought it was too much of a cliche.
