As between the top two vote-getters, which do you think is better?

Yawn, does it matter now ? Everybody knows that Ceremony is primarily a Joy Division song, that Temptation is the peoples' choice as favourite New Order song, and that most New Order fans in the UK at least appear not to care much for The Cure.

It didn't require this most recent poll to tell us that Temptation is the favorite. I think the closeness of the vote actually was misleading.

Perfect Kiss....Tempation is great and all, but TPK is the NO song I blast whenever I'm driving or feeling moody *Most of the time* :evil4:

Well, perhaps I was wrong about the closeness of the vote. Although I like TPK quite a bit, for me it is not emotionally moving, while Temptation is.

I love TPK...but I don't think it would get the rise out of me that Temptation does...

when Temptation started up at Area one...I jumped over the two rows of seats in front of me...TPK wouldn't get that reaction...especially if it's at one of those English standig only shows!!!

I've watched a few live videos of Barney singing PK and must say there are remarkably less whoops and armpit scratching in PK

However the expression when that cowbell is whacked is one to behold!

Hooky (blue monday drums, HTS TOTP drums) must be proud man seeing Barney pull some of those faces!!

Tough for me to choose between two songs which don't even make my top 5.

Tough choice. Temptation has always been my favourite track, but since I received Retro I just can't help listening to TPK video version at least twice a day. I really re-discovered this song, which currently outclasses Temptation.

So, the last (fucking) time I voted for Temptation, but today it's got to be TPK.

I voted for The Perfect Kiss.....again! :) My choice is based purely on the 12-inch version. It's just the best thing they put on record ever.

"The Perfect Kiss" is my vote. i'm a bit sick of "Temptation" at the moment...

Christ! No more!!!! We've done this to death. Closure. Please!!!

TPK is that one NO that I can't seem to enjoy all that much. It's good....just, not all that great. Temptation by a mile.

Once you've heard Temptation from the BBC "mini-concert" in 1984, do you even have to ask? :nono:

Temptation all the way baby!

Me too - temptation is good, but it does not have the longtime appeal of Ceremony, Procession, In A Lonely Place, JD's Atmosphere... If you play Temptation too much it gets old fast.

for this fan who voted for true faith, i will toss my vote with the temptation crowd

temptation never gets old...at least not in my simple opinion...it's a gem...

I am gratified to see that Nicolas has adopted my runoff format for JD.

How on earth can you say Temptation sounds old if you play it too much

its 20 years old and STILL sounds as fresh as a daisy :D

You need to soak up the atmosphere at some gigs my son.... ;)

Now, he should make this thread a permanent top-of-the-forum thread.

Oh, maybe it's more fun this way.

I'm going with "Temptation" here. I never get sick of this song, especially the '87 remake off Substance. TPK is great, but falls a little short against this behemoth. ;)

Whichever song has the bigger climactic ending is the one that clinches the vote.

And I think we all know which one that is.

Is that runoff as in farm runoff, like slurry?:D

righty ho. went with TPK, although i love them both. it's like choosing between greg brady and david partridge....

Temptation is a cooler song... if you're talking about the original, uncut version. The single version is still good, but the Substance remake doesn't capture the mood of the original at all.

this is a hard question to answer; to pick between "tenptation" and "the perfect kiss" two great newOrder songs, i have chosen "the perfect kiss" because i feel newOrder did so much work on it compared to "temptaion" (but if you hear "temptation" on the TARAS... video it will blow you away).

It seems Temptation wins again, but it will always be a close one.

Why don't we call it even, although I've never seen Temptation lose a vote for favorite New Order track in the last 13 years..!

I wouldn't call 37 to 32 a tie!
