I saw the photos and was a bit blown away. Maybe it was the lighting or bulky clothes, but it appears he has gained a considerable amount of weight. He has always seemed so youthful because of his eternal school boy charm. Even the photos on Twisted Tenderness in 1999 he still looked fit and ready to rumble. Now he looks more like a coach from the sidelines. I don't care though. He's still an extraordinary being. And he is middle aged now. Maybe it's all those bangers, mash, and lager. He should do some spot acting so he's gets a trainer and gets into shape. Or maybe it's just Americans are so much more vain about looks. If he's comfortable with it so what. It's not like he's a rock god or anything.
come on boys & girls. barney's straight running towards his fifties...i don't wanna see myself at that age...well...but a bit more discipline wouldn't be the worst thing... 
Perhaps pushing his son's pram a bit more often would help. As for the weird faces, I'm sure the baby will have a good laugh as well. What will he think in 20 years time though ?

sorry to be pedantic, but hooky wasn't wearing a t-shirt - it was a button up casual shirt. albeit a shirt that I wouldn't buy.
They have been know to be cited by the fashion police upon many an occassion. They tend to ignore they and let them pile up.

Believe me it was definately a shirt if anyone cares, and the back had a blue crucifix on it.

You know, I find this post as strangely consoling as I find those pictures curiously worrying.

That's so sad, makes me want for the world to end when I turn 45. And he was such a hunk even a few years ago.

He looks hmmm.. so weird to me. I know all British faces go that way and that's fine. So actually it doesn't change anything. The spectacles are a curious thing to see. Now I have to buy the same kind of glasses.

A good way to avoid looking terrible on party pictures is to bring your camera along and announce to everybody that you're the official photographer. That way you won't be on any of the pictures, and you'll make fun of everybody else later.

By saying that I didn't mean anything offensive, of course. I just noted that some general features awhile ago. However, now it's way far from looking young. Just have to admit it. I never liked eyeglasses but now I'll wear them.
Eveyone seemed to suddenly discover the beauty that lies within a pair of glasses... BAH! I've been wearing them for 26 years now!

actually, when i saw him in those specs, he reminded me of that rivers cuomo from weezer...just for a split second. a double take and wow, he's the approaching grandpa look....like an old english professor who reads in old libraries.
and yes, the weight gain is shocking...he didn't look that fat a short while ago! what is happening, barney?
Barney is probably living more relaxed, eating, watching his baby grow instead of partying pumped full of drugs until past dawn every night. and he looks like a middle aged man, non- heroin junkie who used to party. he has always been the "anti" pop star, and still is... if he could just learn to keep his arms down while dancing (looks very dorky and flamer-ery) and whooping like a monkey, and learn to buy decent clothes and he would be all set.
