Nice one, wonder if Rowetta still has that big Whip that we used to see at the Mondays gigs:D I actually got the balls to say "Hello" to her outside the Pub across from the Olympia in 2001, she was there with Bezrick and a couple of the lads from Black Grape.

I think this picture is probably the one on which Barney looks the WORST EVER -- it beats out the one on which he passed out circa 1983 (it's on the pictures gallery, Barney Sumner section).
As a matter of fact, this is exactly how I imagine Barney looking in his coffin AFTER he's burried:
is that hooky in the skull t-shirts? he looks really confused and geriatric.. but he did raise the roof a fair bit.

Didn't we all look like this after not too much sleep and a few beers? Barney is 48 and New Order don't pay some kind of management, who checks every picture that is allowed to publish like Madonna or U2. Dirty little small idiots full of resentment make me puke. Dirk
these pictures are great because it reminds you that those guys are just like any of us: fat, old, drunk, mongoloid, pretty bald, with glasses, etc,etc ;) but wow. barney really got old in the past year, didn´t he?

Must stick up for Bernard. Although the pictures don't make him look his best. When you saw him animated on the night he looked a lot better, I think he looks younger than his years!

They look fantastic in the flesh. A lot better than some other 24 Hour Party People!

I was there at rtny an it was excellent,best night since old trafford gig, bernie and hooky were on top form,and being 43 yrs old and totally off my face i was in a worst state than bernie in that photo i can tell ya.The party carried on well into the night in the hotel,which also was,nt a pretty state in the morning either. also erral alkin played a blinder too.Top marks arthur we were all well baked, what a night.
Oh dear. Neil Tennant looks younger than Barney. At least Hooky still looks like a party animal.

Agreed, though I wouldn't put it quite so strongly. Take absolutely anyone, stick a few drinks down their necks, get 'em up on a stage and ask 'em to do Barney's chimp dancing then snap a few random pics. No one's gonna look too hot like that.
I don't hear too many negative comments from those who were there, and had the opportunity to run shoulders with Barney or Hooky. The boys looked fine.

Well he has a new baby called Finlay, who was there with him. Absolutely beautiful. Only 10 weeks old.
For those interested in trivia if you look at the pics in the pics gallery you will notice Hooky's strapped up finger - I have recently remembered in a post drunken flash back that he said he did it tucking the quilt in his bed!
that's mentioned in this months jack magazine in the "how mad is that?" section confirms there that he did it changing a duvet.

Neil and Chris (with programmer Pete Gleadall) made their DJ debut last night at 'Return to New York' at the Great Eastern Hotel in London.
Playing a set of contemporary and vintage electro music, they also gave the first spins of three new records they have recently made: 'Walking on thin ice' (PSB Electro mix) by Yoko Ono, 'Love to love you, baby' (Kiki Kokova) and 'Hooked on radiation' (PSB Orange Alert mix) by Atomizer.
Release dates for 'Walking on thin ice' will be announced soon. 'Love to love you, baby' is Neil and Chris's latest collaboration with the artist Sam Taylor-Wood. It will be given a limited edition release on 12-inch vinyl soon. 'Hooked on radiation' is PSB's new production/remix of the UK electro-clash band Atomizer who are behind the London club night Nag Nag Nag.
Neil and Chris began their set with the song 'We're the Pet Shop Boys' by the American electronic singer/songwriter, My Robot Friend. (More details about him on myrobotfriend.com)
Pet Shop Boys were followed last night by New Order's Bernard Sumner and Pete Hook. No further DJ dates are planned by Neil and Chris but a good time was had by all. (Chris's new long, blond hair surprising many.)"

Agreed entirely. All these posts rabbiting on about Barney's tits or how old the band looks are an absolute bore.
How damn cool do you think you'll look at 47?
By incessantly bagging their appearance you're also perpetuating the superficial, uber-image-conscious pop star machine, where the music is diabolical but if they look great on MTV they sell by the bucketload. I'm quite happy for the lads to age naturally and continue to pump out memorable music. If you aren't, forget Low Life and try Westlife.
