Was Gillian at the LA show? Also, I bought Taras Shevenko the other night and I can't decide if I got ripped off or if i'm happy to own a crucial piece of the new order/joy division puzzle. procession is the highlight of the video for me with temptation/ceremony&everythings gone green being at best interesting in their infancy. whats the deal with this show? it sounds like 3 people in the crowd actually enjoyed the set. (actually, gillians hair and make-up may be the highlight!!!)

Yes, Gillian was, surprisingly, at the L.A. show but only went onstage for the rendition of New Dawn Fades. I don't even know whether she was on keyboards or guitars for that one. Someone who was there should tell...

Seb.

gillian came out and played keyboards during new dawn fades. it was a pretty quiet entrance. moby brought out the band, went off about how much he loved jd, and then introduced everyone. he went off calling everyone by their first names, including gillian, and then they just went into the song. not too much fanfare. maybe i was just excited since i thought she was back in england, and there she was standing on stage. i was in the pit area for new order, but chose to sit up in the seats for moby. i kinda regret that now.

As for Taras Schevchenko..

At NO gigs in those days it only ever seemed like 3 people were enjoying them. Saw them in Hull (UK) at the same time and the bootleg captures this unique atmosphere. God knows how the NO phenomenon was viewed in the States. That said, some people came out of the gigs changed forever!
