I've still got mine from the day in question, and did have it framed in my flat till recently but put it away for 'safe keeping' and replaced it with the Italian print for 'Once Upon A Time In America'!
Just out of interest Al, have you catalogued all yer posters, but more importantly....what doublers have you got, and when are you sending them my way

Nope. And I've even got a few under me desk at work (including Hong Kong Canton, pretty rare!) cos I can't be arsed to carry 'em home!
i am pretty useless at collecting or keeping things...however i did get my hands on a couple of nice posters in the mid 80s. one had a big number 7 on which i think was the date of an early new order gig in america...i also had a new order/acr gig poster from new york in the same era. my fav was a perfect kiss poster...with the full trimmings, directed by jonathan demme..etc,etc. i havent got a clue why and how i lost them..but i did !!
My favorite poster is the "Technique" one with "advertising technique" written on it from 1989. I saw it in a record shop and they kindly gave it to me, and i have... lost it.
Always liked the 1981-1982 poster hence the avatar. Even had a T-shirt with it on which probably ended up at Oxfam along with my TBTHOG T-shirt.

Who did the painting for 1981 - 1982?
The painting on "1981-82" was done by one M.J. Ladly who, by bizarre coincidence,was a member of one-hit wonders Martha & The Muffins("Echo Beach")
The Technique cover full-size poster was good.. unfortunatly mine was torn by a few too-many moving..
I bought another one from EBay, but it's 16 cherubs insread of 1.. it's framed on wood just next to my monitor.. so I can see it quite ok.
Unfortunatly, New Order posters weren't easy to find past 1992 in Montreal, and don't ask me why, I was out of money in Toronto 93 so I didn't buy one then...
The Technique cover full-size poster was good.. unfortunatly mine was torn by a few too-many moving..
Full size is big but the bill board size.......... unfortunately I only have a poor quality photo of one of these.
Like most my favourite is the one I have. It's the promo poster for Glasgow & Birmingham 1989, very simple, very technique, very good.

I've got this one in a large poster...just need to get it framed so I can hang it in the bedroom...been meaning to do this for about 2 years now...I am a lazy git!!
Yeah I've got a copy of the Martha Ladly poster, she was Saville's girlfriend and a member of Peter Saville Associates before she went on to run Peter Gabriel's Real World Studio.
Has anyone got the posters Saville designed for the rerelease of Atmosphere or Joy Division's Substance I'd love to get hold of a copy...ie has anyone noticed them up on ebay in the recent past or are they quite rare?

No way! Nice one Lucian. I always thought Saville designed it, but that's a heck of a link.
Also this painting is (in the long line of Saville's work) 'appropriated' from the renowned Russian expressionist painter Serge Poliakoff...take a look:

the one with the big seven would be the paradise garage one - know al has this one & was going through some pics of posters on one of the factory sites & saw ti there - was a fine poster that one.
I have a poster advertising a show "FINAL SOLUTION PRESENT NEW ORDER plush 52nd street and send no flowers may 25th national ballroom-234 kilburn high rd"
The artwork features three ghostly creatures floating through a forest of trees and some stumps resembling bones. The only colors are brown and white.
Anyone know the year this show would have happened in? Anything about the supporting acts?

the ticket for this show is featured on this site in the 'History'/'Tours & Concerts'/'Movement'/'May 25th 82'. I was there but cannot remember the support acts. Only stayed for 5 songs as it was late and didn't want to miss the tube home. Have a tape of the gig and features a jam with New Order & 52nd St, unlistionable noise. Nice poster. One of the best posters would be the 'Final Solution' posters advertising the mini tour in 84.

There is a pic of that fine poster in the media/picture section/posters part of this site. That one hangs proudly on my wall, have got a few comments on that one.
