Bennylux !!

The Cobwebs (me and Karen) will be arriving at Bruxelles Gare Midi at 14.05 on Friday 18th July, and will be available for beer and banter until we travel up to Beveren later that evening, and at Beveren on the Saturday (football and beer). We leave on the Sunday from Bruxelles at 17.54, so if any of our friends from this region want to meet up, let me know in this thread !

A souvenir CD is currently being produced, comprising JD/NO performances in this region over the years, and this will be presented as a gift to all who attend (provided I know you're coming first !!).

Features tracks from every recording made of JD and NO in the Netherlands and Belgium, and just the once I've rolled out the barrel and designed a sleeve as well - amateurish as I'm no designer, but a sleeve all the same.

Wow... I'm sure this'll make up some for all the years of indifference which the band has shown towards our countries over the past 17+ years (you know, playing hundreds and hundreds of shows over here between '79 & '85, and noppes/nada/zilch ever since... as if breaking the US market is really such a big deal)!!

I'll be able to come only on the Friday. If that's ok, I suggest we meet yous at the hotel and take it from there; should be easier to find a hotel rather than some obscure little cafe :)

Yep - we're staying at the Hotel Beveren (I think it's the only one of any size), and will be well up for beers !!

Fook the evening training session ! We're only there for the beer and the banter ! No footy at all until 4pm Saturday, which is at Freethiel.

OK, now that that's been cleared up, we can start making arrangements. Taking into account all the other things that make life interesting round here (family and work), as well as the daily evening traffic jam between Brussels & Antwerp, I should be able to make it to Beveren around 8 pm.

see you haven't mentioned the score then, embarrassing was it ?! be sure to let us know when you're headed this way again, we certainly enjoyed ourselves thanks again, Jan as well, for the cd's, unfortunately in the mad rush to get everything packed I left them at home (must have been the sore head, that wine was shocking), so it's something to look forward to when I get back...

It was 7-1, not bad against a team with 11 internationals in it !!

Tim & Karen (& friends), Geri & Derek, glad to see y'all got home safely! I had a splendid time on the first night of the Bennylux tour... and I see your team rose to the occasion, Tim, and easily did better than even the most optimistic prognosis of its hardiest supporters I had a very busy extended week-end (today was Belgium's national holiday) so I hardly had any time to listen to them (let alone come here & read & post), but the soundtrack to the way home on Friday was the excellent "Bennylux" compilation (great picks, Tim!), and of course I already had a good listen to the Rotterdam/Leuven CD as well. Can't wait to get to the rest (and also part 2 of TX: New Order). So much music, so little time...
